Sweet Memories of Our Trip to China

Hello Ms. So:

Thank you for writing and inquiring about China Odyssey Tours. I lead a group tour to China in January 2007. Sophie Liu was our national tour guide as well as our booking agent. There were a total of 16 people in our group.

Sophie was most accommodating. She made sure that fun was had by all.

But also making sure that we don't leave anyone behind. Always counting and reminding people. She was very professional in her approaches.

During our flight from Beijing to Kunming, we had an unexpected emergency landing. She made sure that we were on the next flight to our destination. Another example of her sensitivity to our needs. One of our member complained that the bed was too hard. Without hesitation she upgraded our hotel at the next destination.

All in all, as the tour leader for our group, I was most impressed with China Odyssey Tour and in particular with Sophie. We not only left China with fond memories, but also gained a friend. To this day, members of our tour group still maintain contact with Sophie.

Based on our experiences, I would highly recommend China Odyssey Tours and if you are working with Sophie Liu, you are working with the best.

Thank you for your inquiry. Feel free to contact me if you should have further questions.

Dear Sophie:

It's so good to hear from you! What a great picture that was! I truly will treasure our memory together. You are just like a sister. Yes, we got home safely. As you can see I am still on China time writing to you at 2:40 a.m. in the morning. I got rested and went to work on Friday. It is so interesting how we can communication being in two different world.

Technology bring us closer together. Please email me from time to time to update me on how you are doing. I will email you about my new school.

Thank you so much for everything that you have done for us while we're in China. Your service, smile, and warm hospitility are much appreciated.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do. When I come to China again I will call you. Keep in touch and may God bless you.

Your sister in America,

Mo

Hi Sophie,

Thanks for your sweet note and the picture I will always treasure of you, Mo and I!!

I have been a little sick since returning home – just too much cold in China, I think…

I have such sweet memories of our trip to China, for which you are greatly responsible… helping us with translation was so helpful and making all our arrangements flow so smoothly was more than we could have hoped for.

I sure miss the great food, colorful mountains and courteous and friendly people of China.

I do look forward to returning to China, perhaps this summer with the group from our university. I hope I will see you again then!

Tomorrow I teach two classes and have several meetings, so it is back to the reality of work and research!!

Thank you for allowing me to help you when you also needed some tender care – we all need help sometimes. I was happy to be your mum on the trip.

Sophie, you are growing into a wonderful professional tour guide – tours like ours are great ones for your resume! Thanks for all you did for us!!

Hugs!

Dearest Sophie,

It is so good to hear from you! I have missed you very much as well. Thank you so much for all that you've done for the group and me. I've enjoyed having you as my roommate. This is my second day back to work because I was sick the last few days upon my return to the US. I never had a chance to give you my evaluation for your service to our group. I hope this e-mail will do:
Ms. Sophie Lu was very professional and made sure the needs of her clients were addressed. She was friendly and flexible and represented China Odyssey well. She accompanied her clients beyond working hours to make sure they are safe and have access to information. The safety and learning experience of her clients was very important to Ms. Lu. She was patient and genuine! Thank you for allowing Ms. Lu to accommodate our travel across China.

Take care Sophie! Thank you again! I feel like I now have a friend in China. Please say hi to all the other guides for me like JoAnn, Kelly, Ying, Jerry, etc. They were all wonderful!

Sophie:

Thank you for the picture. The trip was fun and I really do miss you, especially your laugh. You were always cheerful and responsible. I thank you for that and for everything else. You were like the extra delight that was added onto our trip.

I do hope to come to China and will call you when I do. I hope that you can come to the U.S. one day. Do call me if you come so I can show you around my hometown.

Do keep in touch.

Hi Sophie Lu,

we are all back to the State doing fine, just that the day and night still mixed up. As of today things are back to normal. I do sincerely enjoy the trip. You are a very professional tour leader and thank you so much for coming along with us. You companionship is a big commitment. We could not go through the tour without you especially when we change flights. Your smile is what makes people happy so there is nothing wrong with that. Sensitivity is that you have care and love in you, so I glad to see that you have that too. I hope you enjoy us as much as we enjoy being with you. This is a memory that we all will not forget. If there is a next time, I hope you come along.
