1. What is the weather like in Guilin and when is the best time to travel there?
Guilin, the most picturesque city in Guangxi Province has four distinct seasons. In winter, it very rarely gets below freezing, but it is usually rainy, which makes it feel colder than it is. Summers are hot and humid, so the best time to travel to Guilin is during the spring and fall.
2. What should I take along with while traveling to Guilin?
It is recommended that you bring comfortable shoes. You will undoubtedly being doing a lot of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must. Sunscreen is recommended, as well as carrying bottled water with you. Since Guilin is located in a subtropical zone and has a rainy season, it is recommended you bring an umbrella. If you are photography lover, do not forget your camera, film and batteries, or you will never forgive yourself.
3. What kind of vehicles is available for getting around in Guilin?
In Guilin, there are many options for getting around, such as taxis, buses, minibuses, pedicabs and of course by your private driver. There are also cars and bicycles for rent.

Guilin being a modern and tourist city has hotels to meet every visitor’s requirements. Guilin has many star-rated hotels. In some areas like Longsheng, star-rated hotels are not available, but staying in a local minority families home and witnessing their hospitality is a wonderful and unforgettable experience.

The cuisine available in Guilin is quite diverse. The local food in Guilin has an almost endless variety, and is far more delicious than anything you can find in a "Chinese" restaurant in the west. We are certain you will love it. There are also many Western restaurants in Guilin as well as fast food restaurants such as McDonalds, Pizza Hut, and KFC.
6. What are the currency and the ATM system in Guilin like?
Foreign currencies cannot be used directly in Guilin, but you can exchange your money at the many Bank of China outlets throughout the province. Most major hotels in Guilin will accept major credit cards. Your hotels also can change money for you and ATMs are easy to find.
7. Will there be problems with the language barrier?
Visitors to Guilin do not need to worry about the language barrier. Each visitor will have an English-speaking tour guide, and most of the staff in the star rated hotels can speak English.
