Sichuan Overview
About Sichuan Province
Sichuan enjoys the title of “Heavenly Kingdom”, a reference to the province's abundance of natural resources and cultural heritage. It is a mountainous region with hundreds of mighty rivers spilling across the province, weaving their way down through the soaring mountains of the northwest China. Wonderful temples and shrines scatter in picturesque mountains. Four seasons of Jiuzhaigou are equally charming with its many colorful lakes and waterfalls. The Leshan Grand Buddha is just huge. Moreover, visiting Sichuan offers a valuable opportunity to get close to China's National Treasure – the cute giant pandas, who live leisurely in mountain forests with dense stands of bamboo.
Stunning scenery and colorful culture aside, Sichuan spicy cuisine is another reason visitors flock to the area. With a numbing aftertaste, Sichuan fiery cuisine is not for the faint-hearted. The Sichuan hot pepper is so fiery it will leave your lips tingling and your tongue numb. Try the delicious fiery hotpots and take a leisure travel on this rich land!
