Day 1 Arrive / Beijing

Upon your arrival at Beijing airport, our local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or go out and have an adventure on your own.

Day 2 Beijing

Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel
Sites visited: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven

Today you will first visit the historic Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world, followed by the magnificent Forbidden City, which is the largest palace structure in the world and the place where China's emperors ruled for over 600 years. In the afternoon, you will marvel at Beijing's splendid Temple of Heaven, where China's emperors annually went to pray for good harvests.

Day 3 Beijing

Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel
Sites visited: Sacred Road, Ding Tomb, Great Wall
Special Dinner: Peking Duck Dinner

You will spend the entire day to visit the awe-inspiring Great Wall (Badaling section), the Ding Tomb of the famous Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) 13 tombs and Sacred Road. For dinner you will be served Beijing's most famous dish, Peking Duck.

Day 4 Beijing / Guilin

Sights visited: Hutongs
Transfer via: China domestic flight arranged by us

After breakfast, you will visit Hutongs by rickshaw. Lunch will be served in a local resident's home during the tour. In the afternoon you will take your flight to picturesque Guilin, where your personal guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day will be yours to relax, to head out on the town.

Day 5 Guilin / Yangshuo

Accommodations: New Century Hotel
Sites visited: Li River Cruise, West Street (Yangshuo)

After breakfast, you will be driven to Zhujiang Pier (about 40-minute drive) to start your boat cruise along the picturesque Li River. This is the highlight of any visit to Guilin. The cruise will take you to the village of Yangshuo. In the afternoon you will be free to visit West Street, on your own, after checking into your hotel.

Day 6 Yangshuo

Accommodations: New Century Hotel
Sites visited: Yangshuo County

After breakfast, you will experience an unforgettable cycling tour of Yangshuo's countryside.

Day 7 Guilin / Beijing

Sites visited: Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill, Reed Flute Cave
Transfer via: China domestic flight arranged by us

Today you will be driven back to Guilin (1.5-hour drive) and visit some of its most famous sites, Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill and the Reed Flute Cave before your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to Beijing.

Guilin

Guilin Park Hotel is a four-star international hotel. Conveniently situated between Lake Guihu and Mount Laoren in the city center, the hotel commands some of the most picturesque views in Guilin and contrasts finely with the famous Duxiu Peak, Diecai Hill and Fubo Hill. Lying on the slight mountain slope, surrounded by green trees and fresh flowers, the building combines modern arts with a rich national flavor.

Yangshuo

New Century Hotel in Yangshuo is just close to the West Street. You could walk to the West Street in 10 minutes and wander along this east-western style street. For entertainment, there are bars, coffee shops, gymnasiums, beauty salons and so on.

Meals

Most meals are included as specified in the itinerary. Meal codes are: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner.

Breakfast - All the breakfasts are served in the hotels that you stay at, with both Chinese & Western foods, which will cater to your appetite well enough.

Lunch - Lunches are usually arranged at the Chinese restaurants near the scenic spots, with clean environment and healthy food. The tour guides will order the food according to your appetite. Most are Chinese dishes, and some are modified to fit westerners' taste. A complimentary glass of beer or soft drink is served with lunch.

Dinner - Same as lunch. If you are individual travelers and do not like Chinese food, China Odyssey Tours suggests dinner on your own and our local tour guide can recommend some good western restaurants.

Beijing Huajia Yiyuan Restaurant

Beijing

Huajia Yiyuan is one of Beijing's most famous restaurants. The restaurant, formerly a high ranking military official's residence, features a unique courtyard complex.

Located on Guijie (Ghost Street), Hujia Yiyuan, is worth walking to. Guijie is lit with Chinese lanterns, and hosts a multitude of restaurants that are open all night. You can recognize Hujia Yiyuan by its traditional gate. Come and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere in the main courtyard while traditionally dressed musicians play Chinese music to accompany your meal. Listening to music, while sitting in historic surroundings makes this an elegant and romantic dining experience.

Huajia Yiyuan has two locations on Guijie (Ghost Street). It serves delicious Beijing and Sichuan cuisine in historic surroundings, and also has beautiful private rooms for more intimate meals. Popular favorites are spareribs, roasted buns and spicy crayfish. The western location features a lively tarp-topped dining room with nightly acrobatic performances.

Yangshuo Beer Fish

Guilin

Yangshuo Beer Fish is Yangshuo's most famous dish. It is made from fresh caught Li River carp. The fresh fish is fried in a wok along with beer, hot and green peppers, garlic, onions, celery, tomatoes, soy, and sugar. Visitors are amazed at how delicious the fish's skin is and how fresh and tender the meat is. Eating Yangshuo's beer fish will be an unforgettable culinary experience.

Yangshuo's famous West Street has many restaurants serving this delicious dish. The Tao's Authentic Beer Fish, and The Older Sister of Peng's Beer Fish come highly recommended.
