Our Post Olympic Tour brings to you the best that China has to offer. In Beijing, China's capital, you will explore the ancient imperial splendor of The Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and the Temple of Heaven. You will hike along The Great Wall, and wander around the main 2008 Beijing Olympics' Venues. In Xian, capital of 13 different dynasties, you will be able to witness the splendor of the Terracotta Warriors, and explore Xian's ancient Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Bell Tower. In Shanghai, China's most cosmopolitan metropolis and one of the venues for the 2008 Olympics, you will visit China's number one shopping area, Nanjing Road and the Shanghai Museum, China's most comprehensive museum. You will also stroll through the last ancient traditional garden in Shanghai, the Yu Garden, and its nearby Yuyuan Market. In your day trip to Suzhou, the home to China's most beautiful traditional gardens, you will visit the Humble Administrator's Garden and Lingering Garden. In Qingdao, famous for its beautiful beaches, and fantastic weather, you will visit the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, the venue for the Sailing and Beach Volleyball events of the 2008 Olympics, catch some rays or go swimming at Qingdao's Number One Bathing Beach, visit the birthplace of Daoism, Laoshan Mountain with its ancient temples and breathtaking scenery, and get a bird's eye view of this wonderful city from the Small Fish Park.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive / Beijing
Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel ****
Transfer via: International flight arranged by you
Upon your arrival at Beijing's international airport, your guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to rest and adjust to the time zone difference before you begin exploring the ancient and spectacular city of Beijing the next day.
Day 2 Beijing
Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel ****
After breakfast, you will visit Beijing's historic Tiananmen Square, followed by a visit to the magnificent Forbidden City. In the afternoon, you will marvel at another one of Beijing's famous landmarks, The Temple of Heaven. In the evening you will be free to explore Beijing and its nightlife.
Day 3 Beijing
Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel ****
On this day you will visit The Great Wall (Badaling section) and Sacred Road. Lunch is at Chinese restaurant located near The Great Wall. On your way back from The Great Wall, you will be driven to visit the main 2008 Beijing Olympic venues; the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) where the Opening and Closing Ceremonies were held, and the National Aquatics Center nicknamed the Water Cube for its unique design. Feel free to take some photos of the stadiums. In the evening you will be taken for Beijing's famous Peking Duck Banquet at Quanjude, the most famous of Peking Roast Duck restaurants, established in 1864.

Day 4 Beijing / Xian
Accommodations: Hotel Royal Xi'an****
Transfer via: Internal flight arranged by China Odyssey Tours
After having breakfast in your hotel, you will visit the Summer Palace. After, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Xian. During the Tang Dynasty (618-905), Xian was the largest city in the world and the starting point of the world-famous Silk Road. Upon your arrival, your guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax or step out into the city and have an adventure on your own.
Day 5 Xian
Accommodations: Hotel Royal Xi'an****
You will explore the incredible life-size Terracotta Warriors on this day. It's one of the main highlights of your China tour and really worth visiting. For lunch you will eat at a local Chinese restaurant and taste local Xian food. After lunch, you will stroll along Xian's Ancient City Walls and then visit the city's Bell Tower located in the center of the city.
Day 6 Xian / Shanghai

After breakfast, you will first visit the historic Big Wild Goose Pagoda and temple complex. After your trip to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, you will be driven by private car to Huxian County to discover the art of traditional Chinese farmer's paintings. By using their brushes and artistic talents, peasants record their everyday lives, the beautiful landscape, the great harvests and the busy festivals vividly. It's an excellent chance to appreciate not only the farmer's paintings, but also witness what life is like for Chinese farmers. After your tour in Xian is complete, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon your arrival at Shanghai, China's most cosmopolitan city, your guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel.

Day 7 Shanghai
Accommodations: Holiday Inn Downtown Shanghai (Plaza Wing)****
On this day you will explore the exciting cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, which was one of the 2008 Beijing Olympics' venues. It was where the men's and women's soccer competitions were held. You will visit the Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden and Yuyuan Market. In the evening you will see an amazing Chinese Acrobatics Show.
Day 8 Shanghai / Suzhou / Shanghai
Accommodations: Holiday Inn Downtown Shanghai (Plaza Wing)****
You will be driven by private car to Suzhou (100km), where you will have a day tour. Upon arriving, you will be met by your local guide. Your tour of Suzhou will include: the classical Humble Administrator's Garden and the attractive Lingering Garden, a cruise on the Grand Canal and a visit to the No.1 Silk Factory. After a wonderful day in Suzhou, you will be driven back to Shanghai.

Day 9 Shanghai / Qingdao

In the morning you will stroll around the bund and Shanghai's famous Nanjing Road, which enjoys the reputation of being China's number one shopping street. After, your guide will escort you to the airport for your flight to Qingdao. Qingdao was one of the 2008 Olympic venues. It was where the sailing and beach volleyball events were held. Upon arriving in Qingdao, you will be met by your guide and escorted to your hotel. If time allows, you will be taken to visit the beautiful Qingdao Olympic 2008 Sailing Center located on the ocean.
Day 10 Qingdao
Accommodations: Dongfang Hotel Qingdao****
On this morning you will be driven to Laoshan Mountain, the birthplace of Daoism to visit Taiqing Gong and Sanguandian temples and the scenic splendor of the mountain. In the late afternoon you will be driven back to Qingdao.
Day 11 Qingdao / Beijing

On you last day in the beautiful city of Qingdao, you will visit the Zhanqiao Pier, the No. 1 Bathing Beach, Badaguan area, and the Small fish Park before being escorted to the airport for the flight to Beijing. Upon arriving at the Beijing airport, your guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel.

Xian
xi'an was called Chang'an in the Han Dynasty ,The connotation of "Chang'an" is "a place of permanent peace ". Xi'an was the starting point of the world-famous Silk Road, it can be well likened to history museum, moving around this old city is like going through thousands of years back in time. Hotel Royal Garden is located at east street of busy shopping centre. There is 5km(3miles) to railway station, 42km(26miles) to airport and possess 429 guest rooms.

Qingdao
Dongfang Hotel has the 4-star rating and is approved by the government to provide accommodation services to overseas tourists. The hotel is located in the downtown of Qingdao noted for coastal scenery,well-protected environment,mild climatic conditions and fantastic architectures of Chinese and Western styles. The hotel is on the band of Huiquan Bay, a few minutes walk distance to local tourist attractions, such as Zhanqiao Pier, Luxun Park, Navy Museum, Xiaoyushan Park and Zhongshan road Shopping Center. It takes about 5 minutes to drive to Qingdao Railway Station and 40 minutes to Qingdao Int'l Airport.
Meals
Most meals are included as specified in the itinerary. Meal codes are: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner.
Breakfast - All the breakfasts are served in the hotels that you stay at, with both Chinese & Western foods, which will cater to your appetite well enough.
Lunch - Lunches are usually arranged at the Chinese restaurants near the scenic spots, with clean environment and healthy food. The tour guides will order the food according to your appetite. Most are Chinese dishes, and some are modified to fit westerners' taste. A complimentary glass of beer or soft drink is served with lunch.
Dinner - Same as lunch. If you are individual travelers and do not like Chinese food, China Odyssey Tours suggests dinner on your own and our local tour guide can recommend some good western restaurants.
