Dear Louisa,
Kung Hei fat Choy! (Chinese characters, which means "Wishing you prosperity".)
Thanks, we had a very nice trip. Also many thanks for your professional and
quick help with the little hotel-problem.
We are thinking of going to Guilin in spring and will contact you as before.
Many thanks and best regards,

Hi Louisa,

Hotspring of Mountain Huangshan
I greatly enjoyed the tour. The sights were very beautiful. The hot springs at Huangshan were much better than we expected, too.
My suggestion for improvement would be for you to provide more accurate contact information for the guides. The names and phone numbers that you gave me were incorrect, so I didn't have a good way to reach them before meeting them for the first time. We left Fuyang somewhat late because the guide didn't know when he was supposed to meet us.
However, once we met up with the guides and could talk with them about schedule & expectations, everything was fine.
The bus from Huangshan to Hangzhou was not running due to (not very much) snow on the roads, so the Huangshan tour guides were very helpful in agreeing to drive us back to Hangzhou.
I was thinking of going back to China some other time with the rest of my family. How much would you charge for an itinerary similar to this one, for 4 people?
Thanks,
Pearl

Hi Louisa,

Visiting Beijing's Royal Palace in Winter
Thank you for your e-mail. We intended to write you about our feedback because we're really satisfied with the tour and we had a great time in Beijing.
Our tour guide was very nice, friendly and helpful! We planned together also some very interesting extra activities and I particularly enjoyed the visit to the silk factory.
By the way, could you give me Susan's e-mail address, please? we would like to keep in touch with her! The driver was also very kind!
I can send you some of our wonderful pictures.
See you soon!

Hi Louisa,
You deserve our support, Louisa, because you and your organisation have undertaken everything to fulfill our wishes.
I will take some time to write a feedback and to select some photos ( we have more than one thousand) to support your website.
The trip was wonderful (although it was very cold), the guides and the drivers were nice and helpful.
Nevertheless there are 2 remarks you should know (not to blame you but just for info) :
- the hotel in Beijng should have been very nice if the beds had not been so hard;
- the restaurant that we visited after having seen the terracotta army was not nice.
Best Regards,
Bert & Joanna

Hi Louisa,
Thanks for your telephonecall this afternoon Louisa. Everything goes well, we are satisfied about your service, our nice guide Li Pinh/Susan and the nice driver. The restaurants are excellent and the hotel should be excellent too if the beds were not like wooden shelfs to sleep on.
Without doubt we will also enjoy tomorrows programm and the visit to Xi'an.
Best Regards,
Bert & Joanna

Louisa,
Thank you for your email.
We had a wonderful time in Xi'an, thanks to the excellent help and service you gave us. Our guide Bo, and our driver, were wonderful - they took very good care of us from the first moment to the last. Bo even went hiking with us into the Hua Mountains, which was way beyond the call of duty!
We will remember this trip with very fond memories and can heartfully recommend you to anyone else planning such a visit.
Best Regards,
Gerard and Jeanne

Louisa,
Thank you for your email.
First day back at work today. Eve and I arrived back in New Zealand yesterday morning (Sunday). Pity we didn’t take a photo – never gave it a thought when you were there.
Yes I will write to you re our Guilin and Shanghai experiences. I have already written one in draft so will check it with Eve and print it to email in the next day or two. We did have some issues I would like to share with you and your company. We were not entirely pleased with Simon or the driver and the day in Suzhou did not go entirely to plan.
In saying that Louisa, we still enjoyed our China experience immensely. I will email in next day or two with more details.
Thank you again for your contact.

Hi Louisa,
This is my last day in Beijing. I am having tonight the roasted duck at Do dang for the second time this week. It is an incredible address! Yesterday we have attended the flying acrobats performance, everyday something new!
We have experienced a fabulous journey in China, everything was perfect, including China odyssey service as usual.
I would like to mention particularly our guide Michael in Li jiang, who spoke an astonishing good french and who was clearly above all guides in terms of culture and knowledge, I would mention also miss bobo in Xian.
Thank you to all of you who made this dreamed travel happen.
I will share pictures with you later, but now I have to prepare the trip to taiwan to attend marriage ceremony of Janine'son.
"Bises" as we say in France (that means kisses). It is a formula we use easily with friends,
also more formally
Best regards,
Laurent

Hi Louisa,
My intentions were to contact you as soon as we came back, but to tell you the truth, we have been very tired and sleeping at China time, I know is going to take time to get used to California time.
My husband and I were very pleased with all the tour guides, all of them were very attentive and knowleable of the sites and the history of China. We loved China and their people and of course the food was delicious.
It is alright to give your customer my e-mail address if she wants to verify the prestige of your company.

Dear Louisa,
We enjoyed our tour very much. We felt safe at all times because we were always accompanied by a friendly tour guide. Having a private driver was great. We could go when WE were ready. Even when we were left to explore on our own we knew exactly where to find them. It was a bit too many factory tours for my taste, but other than that we enjoyed the tourist attractions.
I think anyone visiting China should visit Hangzhou, it was beautiful. That was an excellent recommendation from our friendly travel agent who worked with us on custom making a tour to our liking and helping out when anything was needed.
Sincerely, Dawn

Dear Louisa,
Thank you for your email. We were very pleased with our trip and enlisting your company as our tour guide made all the difference.
Our guides and drivers in Beijing and Xi'an were top notch. Jack and Gloria exposed us to so much and was very eager to please any way that they could. We could have not seen or done all that we did without them. They allowed for a trouble free trip...please thank them again for us. Their expertise of the area and the ability to educate us on the history of China as well as their strong English skills made our trip all that more pleasant.
Gloria was kind enough to make sure my kids did not have food they were allergic to, she was very accommodating and pleasant towards us and our children. Jack was also very accommodating and flexible, not to mention his food recommendations were outstanding.
Now for the not so nice part of my review...Our guide in Shanghai really didn't come close to the professionalism and care we received in both Beijing and Xi'an. She was very pushy for us to buy and although I said my kids were allergic to wheat, she pressed on for them to try the cookies at the tea factory. I did not appreciate her insisting on things, she should have reserved her comments. Not to mention, it surprised me when she took a seat to eat with us at lunch. The other tour guides were very respectful, although we did invite them to eat with us, they were polite and kind. However, our guide in Shanghai didn't even wait for an invitation..and wasn't as accommodating.
All in all, I was thrilled with your service. It truly made a difference in how we saw China, and we haven't stopped telling everyone about your company. I appreciate your professionalism and care you took in making all of our reservations and accommodating us in so many ways. Please extend a thank you again to Gloria and Jack and we look forward to referring you to all our friends and family.

Hi Louisa,

We are at the Great Wall
There was no problems with the traffic control and the Acrobat show was great. We did not see the fireworks only partly on TV. The street between the forbidden city (north gate) and Jingshan garden was open during the day of 1.st October and we did plan to go to the north corner of the forbidden city - it could have been a pefect view. But unfortunately they closed the street in the evening.
I have enclosed a single photo for you.

Hi Louisa,
Thanks for your concerns.
We just needed a room for our luggage, a toilet, brush our teeths, maybe a bath if someone felt for that and a base for the days excursion. Steven really did his outmost at the Hotel and also at the Central station - please thank him again.
We are very satisfied with the tour guides. They were in general flexible which we really appreciated. The Hotels were fine. The rooms were fine and the location perfect. The tour to the Great Wall was outstading and the scenery breathtaking - and my legs still hurts.
Thanks from all of us
Best, Ken

Hi Louisa,

Before the Gate of Tiananmen
We arrived back yesterday from a fantastic holiday in China and Hong Kong.
We were very satisfied with all the arrangements-Hotels,Guides,Restaurants and tours. Our Guide Hannah in Shanghai was outstanding. Her command of English and Knowledge was excellent.I fully recommend her.Our guide Tom in Xian also gets full marks. He was very knowledgeble. In Beijing Summer was also very good and helpfull and very flexible.
We have only one complaint. We took a private Rickshaw tour of the Hutong in Beijing which Summer booked for us.We complained to her the next day and she said she would complain to the company. We paid 130 Yuan each and gave a tip at the end to both guide and driver. All we got was a visit to a wooden door of a house with a short explanation and then a visit to a family. All in all 10 minute ride on the rickshaw and the whole tour was one hour which Summer told us should have been one and a half hours. I think this was quite expensive for what we got.We could have walked around the Hutong by ourselves for nothing.
All in all, a well arranged trip and Estell and I thank you personally for all your patience and for contacting us in Xian to find out how everything was. If we ever visit China again we will contact you to make our arrangements.
Best regards, Leonard

Hello Louisa,
Wanted to take a minute to say hello and update my tour so far. The schedule has been very very good to this point but I have early departure tomorrow so that will be a struggle but it is okay. My guides in Beijing(Sophia) and Shanghai(Jane) have been wonderful. I thought they might be tired of all my questions but they seem to like that I am interested in learning about China culture. Since I am returning to Shanghai later in the tour I would like to request Jane as the guide for the last days I spend in the 'international' city.
I have been very impressed with the historical sights and have found that the children are very shy. Two times yesterday in the Forbidden City children stood near Sophia and myself but were afraid to talk to me. So I said hello to them and then they were happy and felt comfortable enough to talk to me with Sophia's help of course.
The weather is hot but not nearly as bad as Iraq so no complaints since it is summer. The only thing I am having trouble with so far is the food. With help from the tour guides I think everything will be alright.
Have to go to bed early tonight and am looking forward to interesting day tomorrow.
Happy journeys,
Thomas Wyllie

Dear Louisa,

A Cute Giant Panda Is Having His Dinner
I am sorry for so long timehas taken for my feedback.
Let's start from thanks for your well done planning of our tour in China. We had a very good feeling working with you from the beggining and this feeling we still have. It was the first time we‘ve tried the foreign travel agency and we are satisfied very much.
And It was a nice experience to visit so many places we did. We saw a lot of interesting and beautiful things and whole tour was excellent. We‘ve been traveling Beijing, Xian, Lhasa, Chengdu, Yangtze river, Shanghai. All tour guides and drivers were good and helpful. We thank to all of them.
The tour has changed our vision on China. Now we know China like a country of the strong economy doing a lot on the country development and the country of nice friendly multinational people.
Nowhere we‘ve seen so many new building sites like in China.
Our tour arrangements were good. We‘ve seen a many temples, palaces and monasteries. All places we‘ve seen are unforgetable. We will keep the impressions of The Great Wall, Terracotta Wariors, Potala Palace in our memories forever. The Panda base is the place you want to come back.
We will never forget the feeling of the walking on the glass floor of TV tower in Shanghai.
Almost all hotels were clean, hospitable and located in right places, except Lhasa. The Tibet hotel isn‘t equal to others and you could change that one for your future visitors. The hotel could be somewhere in the beautiful downtown Lhasa has.
Thank you one more time and good luck.
If we return to China we will ask for your help again.
The best regards,
Zenonas and Rita Lithuania

Dear Louisa,
I cannot tell you how very pleased I am with my time in China. My interpreter and driver are superior! I have traveled around the world for many years, but Wang Shuai and the driver who assisted us went above and beyond the call of duty for me. Your motto, "You are not alone in China" is true.
Thank you so much for arranging such a beautiful tour--and on such short notice.

Hi,Louisa:
I just wanted to write and tell you what a great holiday we had in Yunnan. The guides were just gorgeous people and so knowledgeable and the itinerary was varied and interesting. It was good too to have some time to ourselves. We loved the hotel in Lijiang!! It was in a perfect location and so charming!
I am a committee member of the Australian Association in HK and have in the past arranged short trips for our members. We usually do this through a travel agent in HK but I will pass on the details of your company to the member who will organise the trip next year as I have been so impressed by your service! Unfortunately we are leaving HK to go back to Australia at the end of this year, so it is unlikely that I will be making any more trips in China, but I have told all my friends about you and I'm sure some of them will use your service in the future.
Thanks once again for arranging such a great experience for us!!
Sincerely
Judy

Dear Louisa,
While recovering from jet lag we often found ourselves traveling again through China with the many images still floating in our brains. I had never used China Odyssey before and didn' t know quite what to expect, but after our initial meeting in Shanghai, I felt we were in good hands. You guides and drivers were always punctual and knowledgeable. Our biggest surprise came when we visited a little known city to us, Chongqing, and found a charming metropolis of 3 million people. Our guide went over and above to show us her city and planned outings she thought we would enjoy. This commitment to go above and beyond made Fiona very special and dear. She had never been out of Chongqing but her English was excellent and spoke like a native.
I appreciate your handling of our travel affairs at each city throughout our journey. The hotels were excellent and comfortable. The breakfasts at the hotels were very good and offered a variety of choice. This was an excellent start since not all the offerings at the pre-planned restaurants were very appetizing. Although all the restaurants appeared clean and efficient, they lacked the local flavor and variety of local specialties that we sought. They were operated mainly for tourists and we had better experiences at local restaurants.
I regret we didn't have more time at the Forbidden City. Our guide was anxious to cover everything in the itinerary, but that deserved more time. I also regret not visiting the Shaolin Monastery or the Ming Tombs which I felt should have been included but not for the lofty sum quoted us. I guess that will be left for our next adventure. The Peking Opera and a Peking Dinner would also have been a good addition to our itinerary.
Thank you for all your help and I hope these comments will help the next visitor.
Wishing all the best and pleasant travels in the future.
Regards,
Marianne Pantin

Dear Louisa
I am still digesting all the wonderful things that we did while in China and loving every minute of it. I have gone through my picture many times and now how your wonderful picture of our group to add to my collection. Thank you very much.
Attached you will find one of my favorite pictures.
Louisa, I can't thank you enough for all the hard work that you did for our group. It was a relief having you by our sides all through our journey until Hong Kong. You were deeply missed for our last few days. I have several friends who are interesting in a visit to China and you can be sure that your name will be top on the list.
I have your wonderful placemats and chop sticks on my table in the kitchen and look at them with fond memories every day. I hope you are enjoying your summer and trust you are in good health.
Many thanks for all your hard work,

Dear Louisa

Dali Ancient Town.
You were very prompt with a reply within 24 hours, answering any questions and reassuring us about any concerns we had.
The tour itinerary you arranged was well balanced with very fascinating things to see and do.
We really appreciated our very friendly, informative tour guides Martin, Vicky, Fung and Murphy. They were one of the reasons the trip was so special. We also found that we also had plenty of spare time to explore on our own. The guides would suggest things to do and see when we were on our own and their suggestions were excellent.
Our hotels were comfortable, in central positions and meals were satisfactory. We had no trouble with illness eating Chinese food every day and enjoyed new tastes. Lunches organized by the guides were delicious and our guides would always suggest place to eat for our evening meal. In Kunming Murphy, our guide, booked an evening meal ahead for us, wrote instructions for a taxi driver and even helped us out when we discovered our credit card wouldn’t work. We rang her; she translated over the phone and quickly sorted out the problem.
The whole experience of traveling with China Odyssey Tours was excellent.
I have just emailed information about China Odyssey Tours to a family member who is thinking of traveling to China.
Thanks and regards,
Greg and Chris Robertson

Hello Everyone...
Happy family in the cold.
Once again, I am being lazy and sending out a mass mailing of pictures from Steve, Heather and my trip to China. We had a great time and the guides were wonderful! Anyone interested in a tour of China should contact Louisa at China Odyssey tours...they did a great job arranging our trip and everything turned out really good. (and I'm not even being paid to say that!!)
Several people asked for pictures, but if you aren't one of those, feel free to hit the delete button!! I'm sorry if I back up your e-mail program! The pictures should be pretty self explanatory, but if you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me. (I don't hear from anyone much here in Korea anyway!)
Take it easy!

G'day Louisa
The children were a source of delight to
passers by, especially my granddaughter,
Casey, with her blonde hair.
Thanks for your e-mail. I was about to write to you and tell you about my experiences. I did know who you were when we spoke on the phone, I'm sorry if you got the impression that I did not.
Anyway, I would like to express my appreciation for your organising of our trip. Everything went off as planned and we were extremely happy with the tour destinations, including the unexpected visits to a number of factories.
Your tour guides were excellent. Both Sandy in Xian and Kelly in Beijing were friendly, knowledgeable and had a good command of English so we lost nothing in the translation. I felt that without those two wonderful young ladies the sights would not have been as enjoyable as they were.
The drivers were great and how they managed to navigate through the traffic was a source of amazement.
As to the tour itself, all I can say is that it was wonderful. I have fallen in love with China and now must think about visiting other places in your country in the future.
I've still got to finalise my pictures and download them to my computer and when I have done so I will send you a couple.
Cheers
Geoff from Australian

Dear Louisa,
I'm very much pleased to receive such a nice mail from you.
I feel sorry for your sickness and hope you are in a better shape now.
In fact, I'm in Paris since last sunday only and I had no time to review all my photos from China.
I plan to produce a DVD and a site with the photos (I'm not very good at writing), but I wait the delivery of my new PC (i-mac with the latest i-life software) mid december to do so.
I plan to share the resulting video with you through U-Tube by mid january.
Do not hesitate to adress me any french or italian potential customer to promote China Odyssey.
I'm enthusiastic about China Odyssey service, may be I was lucky to have you and the local guides as partners
I'm trying to persuade a couple of friends to travel to Yunnan and Tibet after the olympics (probably in 2009), I will let you know the period as soon as we decide (probably before june) the central idea of this tour is to travel from Shangri-la to Lhassa by car taking time to enjoy the mountains scenery.
You will find attached a very nice souvenir I have from you.
All my best wishes for you Louisa !!!

Hi Louisa,
We had a WONDERFUL time in Guilin! Thank you so much for organizing it for us. We loved the area - particularly Yangshou, the river cruise and the bicycle ride into the beautiful country side. Next time, we want to spend more time in Yangshou because there was so much more we wanted to see in that area (I'm so glad we had to spend at least one night there!). We've already recommended your service to neighbours and friends, so don't worry, we'll spread the word. Our friends from Denmark, Mette & Jes Jessen will also contact you shortly to ask you organize their tour next year.
We have filled in the papers we got from you and Lucy and will return them to you, but I'm afraid we don't have time to do anything with our pictures etc. We also liked our guide very much; she did a good job. And the train ride was very pleasant indeed, so if anybody else wants to use that service, it's highly recommendable.
All the best wishes, and thanks again

GUIDES:
As interpreter, we had some very good guides to GUILIN, and HUANGSHAN SHANGHAI, good guides to CHENGDE, XI'AN, and SUZHOU HANGZHOU and one guide to BEIJING very average. All the guides were friendly and considerate with our group.
DRIVER OF CAR:
All bus drivers were well on the whole except for BEIJING who was driving very fast and was too driven, and that of HUANGSHAN who fell asleep during the route between HANGZHOU and HUANGSHAN.
For CONCLUSION:
We recommend your agency to go put his knowledge at our disposal guides speaking french very funny and knowing meet our expectations. Thanks China Odyssey Tours. Thanks for all LOUISA.

Louisa,
I've just got back to the UK and picked up your Email. There was no need for you to worry at all. The taxi driver dropped us off at the doc you mentioned but we were soon guided in the right direction from the locals. The trip itself was fantastic, when we borded we were actually upgraded to a suite cabin with floor to ceiling windows over looking the back and the side of the boat. I couldn't have hoped for more in my wildest dreams! Thanks ever so much for sorting the trip out, it was perfect and I will certianly recommend you to my friends in the UK who may be looking for tours in the future.
Once again many thanks

Louisa,
Thank you for your warm welcome in Guilin, we truly enjoyed meeting you. The entire trip was an outstanding experience primarily because of the tremendous package you put together. The China Odyssey guides were very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. We especially liked Kelly in Beijing and Edith in Guilin. All of the provided drivers were very skillful, friendly and polite. All of the guides and drivers were fun to have with our small group and made the trip more pleasant. We are particularly grateful to each guide and driver for being patient with us and flexible with our change requests. All of the lodging accommodations were beyond our expectations and first class. All of the arrangements you made for us were spectacular and we will not hesitate for a moment to use China Odyssey Tours for our next trip to China, perhaps as early at 2009. Again, thank you for magnificent trip that was all too short…we left China and the wonderful people of China and carry with us a lifetime of breathtaking memories.

Louisa,
we just returned home from China. Had a wonderful trip. Everything was exactly as represented or BETTER. We couldn't be happier with the services that your company provided. Our Tour Guide in Beijing, Jack, was absolutely great. He was very knowledgeable, eager to help with any of our needs and had a great sense of humor. Thanks again for everything.

Hi Louisa,
Thank you very much for your nice card and the wishes for Christmas.I hope you enjoyed the hot spring weekend with your collegues.
We had a good Christmas this year together with the family. In fact, Christmas is the most importand family celebration of the year and most of all people stay at home.
Only a few german companies have events like your hot spring(which i really do not know what it is) over the week end with the collegues as we normally think the weekend is only for the familiy. But this may change.
My daughter and I we like to remember the fantastic China Trip in July this year. For her it was the end of a whole year in China and for me the first trip to China but certainly not the last one. You may rest assured that I would book again with you and also I have told to everybody who is interested that you did a great job and that the whole organisation of the trip was extremly good. As well we appreciated very much that we have seen each other personally.
All the best for you
Sincerely yours
Adele and Andrea Schuch

Dear Madam/Sir,
Herewith, my feedback (sorry too late, because of the very bussy period I have) regarding the questions that you posed in the CONFIRMTION LETTER (received June 27, 2006):
Q1: about our contactperson:Our touroperator Louisa Xue has answered my e-mails fast and correct. On workingdays we cancommunicate several times. Problems and/or questions was solved/answered immediately. Actually, because of Louisa's adequate "actions", we agreed within a very short time. Honestly, China Odyssey came back very late in the process again. Lucky, that at the last moment, accidentally, during surfing, I came to C.O.D. website again (and I sent an e-mail, which was responded by Louisa).
Q2: The tourarrangements were in general satisfying. Indeed Tunxi (Huangshan City) has miinimal touristic attractions (not easy for localguides). The flight from Huangshan Airport to Shanghai was very late. One option would be: to stay 2 nights in Huangshan (Behai Hotel is excellent). The localguide in Huangshan must be physically very strong. Our guide Doris Wang Dong Mei has done her best, walking with us!! Huaxi Hotel in Tunxi, is very basic (another hotel would be better).
Q3: Yes, we are willing to recommend your service to firiends/family.
Remark: we have no reference at all, however I believed Louisa's message in one of her last e-mails before we started our travel that "You are not alone in China!". We also have that feeling that we always can contact somebody in
case of emergency.
Q4: General opinion about C.O.T.: well organised. Moreover, the localtours(Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Tunxi) are also OK. Very important ans one of the keyfactors is, that we are satisfied with all local guides (Shanghai: Laura/Liu Yan; Suzhou: Daphne Wang; Hangzhou: Alice Liu Hong Hong; Huanshan: Doris Wang Dong Mei). They are nice, well trained and we had very interesting conversations. At the beginning was that we are looking for a grouptour, but this "private" tour was a success. Remark: my wife prefers female tourguides, which all were.
Best wishes for the year 2007 for China Odyssey Tours and kind regards,
OEI Hok Liang

Hello again, Louisa
The Aged Chinese Playing Chess
Just a couple of quick points in response to your email. First, I certainly do expect to return to China someday. But probably by then the guidebook will be out of date and I will get a newer one. So it will (I hope) be of more use to you. For one thing, you can learn what a lot of your Western clients are reading about China -- this particular guidebook is very popular in Europe and North America. Also it may give you some new vocabulary and concepts in English.
Second, I hope to post a website of some of my pictures, and I would be happy for China Odyssey Tours to use them too. Here are just two of them as samples for you to look at now. I really like photography and the trip has been wonderful for that.
Also, I will email your client this evening with my sincere recommendation of China Odyssey Tours and you in particular.
Wishing you all good things,
Lawrence

We had a wonderful time in China. My wife took almost 2,000 pictures. I filled out an evaluation form and gave it to each tour guide. My specific comments can be found on those forms. Overall, we were very pleased. Thank you so much for all of your hard work in our behalf.
