Dear Louisa,

We returned home on Wednesday this week. I just wanted to write to thank you and all of the staff at China Odyssey Tours for your excellent tour service. We are already recommending to friends that they should visit your website and arrange for tours if they are going to China. Your organization really provided what you promised. Not every company can say the same.

With the exception of the Beijing-Shanghai flight, everything proceeded smoothly. We felt very well cared for by each tour guide, and we were impressed with the quality of the vehicles and hotels that were used.

We might suggest a nicer 5-star hotel in Beijing, however, as the Crown Plaza was old and not as well appointed as our other hotels. The Harbour Grand in Hong Kong was wonderful. We might also suggest that guides be prepared to give different types of information to groups with children, as it was uncomfortable in Beijing to hear talk of concubines. This is not particularly good information for children. Simply a suggestion.

We especially loved our time in Guilin, partly because Tony was a most outstanding guide and partly because of our excellent itinerary and experiences. Our friends living in Shanghai will probably be contacting you for a short tour of Guilin for October. Do please inform Tony that our time with him was our most favorite. But there are things we loved about each city we visited, and we felt that each guide was well-prepared.

In any event, I just wanted to thank you for making our tour of China safe, memorable, and efficient.

We wish you all the best in the future.

Sincerely,

Susan Sims and family

Dear Louisa,

We would like to thank you for having wonderful and enjoyable trip you had arrange for us. Your flexibility to our requests and quick answerers were remarkable! You were efficient and kind and it was pleasure to meet you at your office. Many thanks, Yael and Hemi Kurlander ISRAEL

It was a pleasure dealing with you and your company. When we book another trip to Asia your company is first on our list. It was our first time with a private guide and driver and we will be doing this again.

The 2 women guides, Grace and Linda were amazing and were so thoughtful. I highly recommend them.

We are not publishing pictures on the computer but if anyone needs references about your company we are more than happy to give them.

Thank you again for making our trip very memorable.

Dear Louisa,

Hope this e-mail finds you well.

Our friends Yaary and Luba came back very excited and full of praise the way their tour was arranged. They enjoyed every minute.

I am happy that Estell and I recommended Chinese Odessey and especially you to arrange the itinerary.

They showed me the itinerary a few times before you finalised it and we fully recommended what you arranged.

I am sure they will recommend you to other travellers interested in touring China.

Best regards,

Dear Louisa,

We are now back to France and we have to thank you for the organisation of this journey. Everything went as planned and we never suffered any delay or problem. We also address special thanks to:

(1) Ms. Kong who drove us very safely and smoothly from Kunming to the Schengcun terraces and back although the road was occasionaly tough.

(2) The guide Mr. Peter in Lijiang who did not hesitate to come back to help me for translation although his duty was finished (I had forgotten a case in a bank).

Best regards,

Dear Louisa,

Our Best of China tour (Beijing, Shanghai and Xian) was personal and well done like you aready knew me. It was the best money I ever spent.

My travel consultant Lousia answered my every question immediately and gave me good advice on many things, especially for Beijing.

Beijing because my guide, Steven, besides taking me to all places and giving all the details about what I was seeing, was also a very informed person and I could ask hime about many other things than those actually involved with the tour. He gave me tons of historical information that I am now reviewing on the computer to get even more information. He is very likeable and friendly person.

Regarding to meals, I don't remember the name of the restaurant that Steven took me to, but the food was very good. I'm looking for the recipe for the food we ate now. Also I thoroughly enjoyed the food in Xian in the restaurant where they also had the dances from the Tang Dynasty.

In retrospect, I should have included the panda preserve and will do so when I return with my family in the future.

Grace Busch

Dear Louisa,

I just wanted to tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to China.

You really got me guides that made me feel that I was their friend and not just a client. I hope to keep them as friends as they all had many things in common with me. I hope to convince the rest of family to come with me to China as it is a fascinating country and I would like to get to know it even more. You can be sure we will be in contact with you when we come.

Always,

Happy New Year!

This is a short feedback about our recent arrangement with your company in Shanghai.

Everything was as good as it could be, even the weather you are not responsible for. I would like to especially congratulate you on your ability to hire as wonderful guide as Sunnie was. She is just superb! Everything: work ethics, professionalism, command of English, and especially knowledge of and love for local history. The latter one was especially important for us as history and arts are the main focus of our travel interests.

Unfortunately I either forgot to ask or lost Sunnie's email address. Would you be so kind as to pass to her our appreciation and best wishes for the new year.

Meanwhile, I am already recommending your service and both guides we had - in Beiging last year and in Shanghai this year - to my friends who are consider travelling to your beautiful country.

The scenic Tiger Leaping Gorge,
a nice place to hiking

Well we have arrived home after two ands a half months of travelling. We are tired but sorry that it has all ended. I must write a few sentences which I want you to put on the internet under customers comments.

Before I write for the internet I want to thank you personaly for a well organised trip which we enjoyed very much and we are very glad we met you personally. Thank you for a well organised trip.

Now our comments:

This was the second trip we booked with China Odessey and we can only highly recommend the company. Our first trip was Beijing, Shanghai, Xian and a trip on the Yangzte. Our second trip two months ago was hiking in three different areas.

Both trips were organised by Louisa who was quick to respond to all our questions and we had many. The guides in both trips were knowledgeable and their command of English was good. Our hiking trip went off without any problems and we walked through beautiful countryside and met interesting people.

Hi Louisa,

My brother and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Beijing. The Great Wall was by far the best experience we had there.

In terms of your company, the service was good and our tour guide Michael was very informative. Our only concern was regarding the itinerary, as we believe that it should state how much we are expected to tip our tour guide and driver.

Overall, it was a great experience so many thanks to China Odyssey Tours.

Louisa,

Renee and our guide at the majestic Potala Palace
The emerald valley waterfall of Huangshan

Sorry for not returning your email quickly. Overall, the vacation was enjoyable. The hotel in Shanghai was located close to several places we wanted to visit. Our Guide Min was fine. The mix up at the railway station was understandable since we arrived early.

The Hotel in Huangshan was what I expected. The rooms were large and very up to date with a flat screen TV. The staff was very helpful. We found the guide Libby to be delightful, she was very well informed and we all felt that she was truly interested in our group having a great time. I hope that you will use this hotel again for any other travelers that you might send to Huangshan. The hotel in Hong Kong was average. The rooms were very small and the staff wasn't very helpful. Just my observation.

My friends and I enjoyed the vacation that you developed for us. Thank you so much for your time. I have recommend your company to several people at my workplace who are interested in traveling to China. I hope they will use your company. Feel free to use me as a reference. Once we go thru the pictures I will send a couple to you, we as a group took over 2500 pictures.

Hi Louisa,

I wish to thank you sincerely for the trip you mapped out for me. I appreciate every aspect of arrangements and guides organized, which were all on schedule and on time. This really gave me a peace of mind which truly added untold enjoyment throughout the entire itinerary.

Since my return home, I was so caught up with a pile of backlog duties which required my attentions, hence my apology for this late replay. I have yet to sort through my photos. I will endeavor to send you a few when the time comes.

I spoke highly of you and recommended my friend Eric Lessman and wife to you. He told me today that his is arranging their trip with you.

Cheers!

Hello Louisa,

Arrived into Singapore into a deluge, thank goodness not staying yet. On to Shanghai, efficient collection by our guide Fiona, who is gorgeous, CC thinks so anyway! First day walking around getting bearings.

Tour of Shanghai next, amazing city on banks of Huangpu River. Huge architectural skyskrapers everywhere. Very hot and humid. Saw the Yu Garden, Yuyuan Market, walked along the Bund (which means keyside), bartered in Nanjing Road shops, up the Jinmao Tower 420.5 meters tall, highest in China, amazing views from viewing area. Grand Hyatt has floors 53-87. Treat for the day, taken to Tea House for Tea Ceremony, excellent, beautiful music being played, very entertaining. Typical chinese restaurant for lunch, delicious. Evening went to see Acrobatic Show, excellent.

Tuesday was our Expo day, very hot walking around the amazing huge site. Managed to get into Australian, Finland, Estonian and China Provinces pavilions only as queing for 3-4 hours in heat, not our cup of tea! So many people everywhere. Good free bus services from one end of site on one side of river across to other area. Collected at 4 p.m. thank goodness as we were 'stuffed'. Great day though. Today we have a free day, so plan to return to Old Town area of the city.

As for now,

Hi Louisa,

Renee and our guide at the majestic Potala Palace
Renee and our guide at the majestic
Potala Palace

Thank you for the picture, but you did not say which was you and which was your sister. Where was the photo taken?

I did write a bit of a travelogue, but it is long (12 pages single spaced). It is not smooth...just a lot of thoughts and impressions that would seem disjointed to others.

Regarding photos, we took a lot and I have attached a few. The one of the Great Wall is unusual because there are NO tourists in it. It was a good time of the day to visit and a good location that you chose. The others are included because they were high points, including: the Potala Palace (Renee with our guide), the debating monks at Sera Monastery, a birthday cake from the hotel on July 4 (Renee's birthday), the Reed Flute Cave and Shanghai from the Pearl Tower.

We had a lot of highlights, but I chose these few to illustrate some of the places we'll remember.

I am also attaching a photo of Renee and me taken after we got home during a tour of a new hospital building where I used to work. You saw our passport pictures, but those photos are usually pretty bad. So here is what we look like...really.

Thanks for again everything.

We (Renilde, Glenn, Denis, Dimitry, Justine, Kato, Marleen, Guy, Johan, Annelies and myself) want to thank you for making our first China holiday a Big Big success.

Not only the preparation went well, the sightseeings were fascinating, we made a lot of fun, the hotels superb and our national guide.....exactly as we wanted it to be.

From the beginning, you really managed to give us a welcome feeling. Your presence in our group has certainly helped us feeling at home.

It is as you mentioned the last day, your English was perhaps not the best, although certainly good enough for us, but we all felt very clearly your commitment to make this holiday enjoyable for everyone and that's what you did.

Congratulations for this, it is a level of customer service rarely seen in most Western countries.

Having said this, this holiday has been an eye opener for all us and clearly gave us a very positive view on China.

Thanks a lot for all this and I trust we will stay in touch.

We came straight home from guillin.Despite the weather, we had a good time in China although it was our second time in guillin.

The contrast in weather on the Li River and at Longsheng to our previous trip showed us two sides of the places. For Robin, it was hard to be a guide for a second time, but he tried to make it as easy as possible. He did very well.

Hi Louisa,

Hotspring of Mountain Huangshan
Hotspring of Mountain Huangshan

I greatly enjoyed the tour. The sights were very beautiful. The hot springs at Huangshan were much better than we expected, too.

My suggestion for improvement would be for you to provide more accurate contact information for the guides. The names and phone numbers that you gave me were incorrect, so I didn't have a good way to reach them before meeting them for the first time. We left Fuyang somewhat late because the guide didn't know when he was supposed to meet us.

However, once we met up with the guides and could talk with them about schedule & expectations, everything was fine.

The bus from Huangshan to Hangzhou was not running due to (not very much) snow on the roads, so the Huangshan tour guides were very helpful in agreeing to drive us back to Hangzhou.

I was thinking of going back to China some other time with the rest of my family. How much would you charge for an itinerary similar to this one, for 4 people?

Thanks,
Pearl

Hi Louisa,

You deserve our support, Louisa, because you and your organisation have undertaken everything to fulfill our wishes.

I will take some time to write a feedback and to select some photos ( we have more than one thousand) to support your website.

The trip was wonderful (although it was very cold), the guides and the drivers were nice and helpful.

Nevertheless there are 2 remarks you should know (not to blame you but just for info) :
- the hotel in Beijng should have been very nice if the beds had not been so hard;
- the restaurant that we visited after having seen the terracotta army was not nice.

Hi Louisa,

This is my last day in Beijing. I am having tonight the roasted duck at Do dang for the second time this week. It is an incredible address! Yesterday we have attended the flying acrobats performance, everyday something new!

We have experienced a fabulous journey in China, everything was perfect, including China odyssey service as usual.

I would like to mention particularly our guide Michael in Li jiang, who spoke an astonishing good french and who was clearly above all guides in terms of culture and knowledge, I would mention also miss bobo in Xian.

Thank you to all of you who made this dreamed travel happen.

I will share pictures with you later, but now I have to prepare the trip to taiwan to attend marriage ceremony of Janine'son.

My husband and I were very pleased with all the tour guides, all of them were very attentive and knowleable of the sites and the history of China. We loved China and their people and of course the food was delicious.

It is alright to give your customer my e-mail address if she wants to verify the prestige of your company.

Dear Louisa,

We enjoyed our tour very much. We felt safe at all times because we were always accompanied by a friendly tour guide. Having a private driver was great. We could go when WE were ready. Even when we were left to explore on our own we knew exactly where to find them. It was a bit too many factory tours for my taste, but other than that we enjoyed the tourist attractions.

I think anyone visiting China should visit Hangzhou, it was beautiful. That was an excellent recommendation from our friendly travel agent who worked with us on custom making a tour to our liking and helping out when anything was needed.

Sincerely, Dawn

Dear Louisa,

Thank you for your email. We were very pleased with our trip and enlisting your company as our tour guide made all the difference.

Our guides and drivers in Beijing and Xi'an were top notch. Jack and Gloria exposed us to so much and was very eager to please any way that they could. We could have not seen or done all that we did without them. They allowed for a trouble free trip...please thank them again for us. Their expertise of the area and the ability to educate us on the history of China as well as their strong English skills made our trip all that more pleasant.

Gloria was kind enough to make sure my kids did not have food they were allergic to, she was very accommodating and pleasant towards us and our children. Jack was also very accommodating and flexible, not to mention his food recommendations were outstanding.

Now for the not so nice part of my review...Our guide in Shanghai really didn't come close to the professionalism and care we received in both Beijing and Xi'an. She was very pushy for us to buy and although I said my kids were allergic to wheat, she pressed on for them to try the cookies at the tea factory. I did not appreciate her insisting on things, she should have reserved her comments. Not to mention, it surprised me when she took a seat to eat with us at lunch. The other tour guides were very respectful, although we did invite them to eat with us, they were polite and kind. However, our guide in Shanghai didn't even wait for an invitation..and wasn't as accommodating.

All in all, I was thrilled with your service. It truly made a difference in how we saw China, and we haven't stopped telling everyone about your company. I appreciate your professionalism and care you took in making all of our reservations and accommodating us in so many ways. Please extend a thank you again to Gloria and Jack and we look forward to referring you to all our friends and family.

We arrived back yesterday from a fantastic holiday in China and Hong Kong.

We were very satisfied with all the arrangements-Hotels,Guides,Restaurants and tours. Our Guide Hannah in Shanghai was outstanding. Her command of English and Knowledge was excellent.I fully recommend her.Our guide Tom in Xian also gets full marks. He was very knowledgeble. In Beijing Summer was also very good and helpfull and very flexible.

We have only one complaint. We took a private Rickshaw tour of the Hutong in Beijing which Summer booked for us.We complained to her the next day and she said she would complain to the company. We paid 130 Yuan each and gave a tip at the end to both guide and driver. All we got was a visit to a wooden door of a house with a short explanation and then a visit to a family. All in all 10 minute ride on the rickshaw and the whole tour was one hour which Summer told us should have been one and a half hours. I think this was quite expensive for what we got.We could have walked around the Hutong by ourselves for nothing.

All in all, a well arranged trip and Estell and I thank you personally for all your patience and for contacting us in Xian to find out how everything was. If we ever visit China again we will contact you to make our arrangements.

Best regards, Leonard

Hello Louisa,

Wanted to take a minute to say hello and update my tour so far. The schedule has been very very good to this point but I have early departure tomorrow so that will be a struggle but it is okay. My guides in Beijing(Sophia) and Shanghai(Jane) have been wonderful. I thought they might be tired of all my questions but they seem to like that I am interested in learning about China culture. Since I am returning to Shanghai later in the tour I would like to request Jane as the guide for the last days I spend in the 'international' city.

I have been very impressed with the historical sights and have found that the children are very shy. Two times yesterday in the Forbidden City children stood near Sophia and myself but were afraid to talk to me. So I said hello to them and then they were happy and felt comfortable enough to talk to me with Sophia's help of course. The weather is hot but not nearly as bad as Iraq so no complaints since it is summer. The only thing I am having trouble with so far is the food. With help from the tour guides I think everything will be alright.

Have to go to bed early tonight and am looking forward to interesting day tomorrow.

Happy journeys,

Thomas Wyllie

Dear Louisa,

A Cute Giant Panda Is Having His Dinner
A Cute Giant Panda Is Having His Dinner

I am sorry for so long timehas taken for my feedback.

Let's start from thanks for your well done planning of our tour in China. We had a very good feeling working with you from the beggining and this feeling we still have. It was the first time we‘ve tried the foreign travel agency and we are satisfied very much.

And It was a nice experience to visit so many places we did. We saw a lot of interesting and beautiful things and whole tour was excellent. We‘ve been traveling Beijing, Xian, Lhasa, Chengdu, Yangtze river, Shanghai. All tour guides and drivers were good and helpful. We thank to all of them.

The tour has changed our vision on China. Now we know China like a country of the strong economy doing a lot on the country development and the country of nice friendly multinational people.

Nowhere we‘ve seen so many new building sites like in China.
Our tour arrangements were good. We‘ve seen a many temples, palaces and monasteries. All places we‘ve seen are unforgetable. We will keep the impressions of The Great Wall, Terracotta Wariors, Potala Palace in our memories forever. The Panda base is the place you want to come back.

We will never forget the feeling of the walking on the glass floor of TV tower in Shanghai.
Almost all hotels were clean, hospitable and located in right places, except Lhasa. The Tibet hotel isn‘t equal to others and you could change that one for your future visitors. The hotel could be somewhere in the beautiful downtown Lhasa has.

Thank you one more time and good luck.
If we return to China we will ask for your help again.

The best regards,
Zenonas and Rita Lithuania

Thank you for emailing me. We had a wonderful trip. The hotel you booked for us in Yichang we perfect.
I want to truly thank you as you were the most amazing person in organising this trip for us. Your speed at responding to us and organising our holiday was fantastic.
Do you also act as a travel agent for people living in China who travel a great deal?
If you do I would like to work more with you.

Thanks again for a wonderful trip.
