It's so nice to hear from you!

We had a very comfortable one-night stay in Marriot Chongqing hotel. We really enjoyed the cruise and we are so glad we chose Century Star that you recommended, the room was very clean, service was excellent, and food was very good as well. The crew were also very warm and friendly.

We were very pleasantly surprised that even the porter fees to carry our luggages up the cruise were included. The tour guides were all very professional.

The only thing is that our luggages were scratched and dirtied by the porter who carried our luggages from cruise up to Yichang. If we have known that earlier, we would have chosen to carry our luggages instead. So maybe next time, the tour guide should warn the tourists first, and let the tourist decide whether to use the porter service then.

Overall, we were very happy and glad to have engaged China Odyssey Tours, we really had an enjoyable trip.

Thanks for helping us plan and ensure such a smooth and enjoyable trip.

We would definitely recommend China Odyssey go our friends and relatives.

Hi Yoko,

China's largest Imperial Summer Villa
in Chengde, Hebei Provice

First of all thanks for arranging everything. Our tour went flawless and the services were excellent! We had an unforgettable time in Beijing and Chengde.

All of our tour guides were very accommodating and warm! We never experienced a dull moment with them. Everything in the tour gave us value for money. The hotel was great, you were right, the location better. Our Beijing guide, Iris showed true knowledge of the City so as did Helen, our Chengde guide. Even though we spend only a few hours at the Hutongs, our guide there, Janet gave us a thorough tour of the area. Suffice to say, all tour guides did an excellent job. I can say the same for our drivers. They did everything to avoid traffic and was careful in their driving. Good job.

All in all, thanks to China Odyssey Tours for making our trip relaxing, breathtaking and fun!

Looking forward to our next tour, maybe next year same time to Hongkong and Guilin. :)

Ofcourse, with COT again. I am even endorsing COT to others considering a China Trip.

Hi Yoko,

Visiting Yoko at China Odyssey Tours office

I have arrived safely back in the UK, Philip remains in Kazakstan.

I am emailing you to say what a wonderful holiday we had. The sights, culture, scenery and my experience of China will remain with me for a long time as one of the most enjoyable holidays of my life.

The service we received throughout was excellent, our guides were knowledgable, organized and efficient and always on time, when we agreed a time to meet they were there. Please pass on my special thanks to Jessica (Beijing), Zoe (Xian), Li (Guilin) and Jade (Shanghai) our other guides were brilliant but we only spent a few hours with some so did not get to know them so well as we did the ones mentioned.

They certainly took the hassle out of our sightseeing and we were able to enjoy our visits to the historical sites.

Our drivers were also excellent, and I cannot fault our accommodation, which was a luxury and just needed after a busy day sightseeing.

I would not hesitate to recommend China Odyssey Tours for its personalized service it gives its clients.

Dear Yoko,

We have now returned home to Northern Ireland having completed our visit with our daughter and our tours within China.

I must say that we were very impressed by the punctuality and organisation of all our tour guides, and their English was excellent. We found their knowledge of the respective areas and subjects to be extensive and they conveyed it to us in a polite and informative manner. I feel that Forrest deserves particular mention for the excellent service he gave, and David likewise, but as we were only with him for a short period of time, to a lesser degree.

Do please pass on our thanks and gratitude for a job well done to all of them.

Pamela and I have both said that our tours around China would not have been possible without your help and organisational skills. I must therefore whole heartedly thank you personally for all that you did in organising the tour guides, accommodations and respective tours. It was absolutely fantastic. Thank you Yoko.

Get very close to the giant panda

Firstly let me apoligise for the delay in our response to the questionnaire abobut our holiday in China. Along with some photos I have attached our response. have attached a photo of two of our tour guides and am hoping that you will pass these on to the appropriate people.

We had a great time in China. The guide from Chengdu even managed to organise for me (Jan) to hold a panda. A definite highlight of my trip.

We both thoroughly enjoyed a trip to the Stone Forrest that we organised ourselves. What an amazing place it was. The Ancient City in Lijiang was also a wonderful place to visit.

I would like to give a special recommendation to the guides and drivers we had in Chengdu and Lijiang.

Dear China Odyssey Tours,

We have recently enjoyed a wonderful trip around China. I would like to thank Yoko for her wonderful help in making some of our bookings.

Well, what a wonderful experience that was. We were treated like royalty on the Yangtze Cruise Ship. Everything was so clean and the staff were so polite and helpful. We were amazed at how the waitresses in the dinning room remembered our names. That was a very personal touch. The on shore excursion on the second day was unbelievable. The trip down the Lesser Three Gorges on the 'peapod' boats was just an amazing experience. The scenery was incredible but also the men working on those boats were so happy in their work. Our tour guides spoke good English which meant we could understand the trip well. All-in-all, the Yangtze Cruise was great. They are the biggest cruise boats on the river. 5 star service.

Also, Yoko organised some train tickets for us as buying these in China can be a daunting task for anyone who doesn't speak Chinese. Not only did Yoko arrange the purchase of these tickets and delivery of them to our Hotel but she also organised for an English speaking guide to come with us to the train station and show us which train to get on. What wonderful service!! You out-did yourself Yoko.

All-in-all I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Yoko and to China Odyssey Tours for there excellent help in organising and booking our trip.

Good morning, Yoko

We were always met on time by our guides, who were very gracious and efficient. ALL the food was delicious! We became expert with chopsticks. The three star hotels exceeded our expectations. Tibet was our favorite part of our trip, because the people there have retained their identity and are very spiritual and the area is so beautiful. The two of us did fine in the youth hostel setting in Lhasa, but we are not ordinary American tourists. Conditions were somewhat poor, but we felt that made the experience more organic, and it put us in touch with lots of backpackers and independent travelers. We also had more opportunity to visit with common people, who were very friendly and open. Tibet would have been fine to navigate independently.

What we are allowed to see is very beautiful. Thank you for all your help in carefully planning our trip. We experienced no disappointment in visiting your country. We will never forget the faces and the kindness shown to us.

Dear Yoko,

What a great time we had in Beijing!

I enjoyed seen the Great Wall Bandaling Section. It was a dream that comes true. It was a 21 hours trip from Porto Rico to Beijing, but worth.

I like the Chinese people. Gentle and humble. My family enjoyed seeing the Train Station in front of the Hotel (Paragon Howard Johnson).

I wanted to write you this note because I will never forget you also. I do not know if I will return to Hong Kong or Shangai. I would like. In a couple of years, I will tell you.

First I wanted to thank you in person for arranging everything in such a short notice and being flexible with all the requests I had. The trip all worked great. Everything was as planned. Hotels, drivers, guides...

The trip was very special, exciting and left me with the feeling I need to come again.The Li River Cruise from Guilin, the Terracotta Warriors in Xian were just unbeleiveable.

Hi Yoko,

My Mom and I had a wonderful time touring in China. So many things to see and so little time to see them all. The contrast between the Old and the Modern is so great. Each city seemed to tell a different story.

Beijing is trying so hard to get ready for the Olympics. So much new building mixed with old emperial architecture, I was facinated.

Xi'an - The drive from the airport showed the stark contrast between the farming countryside and the city. I was amazed by the amount of history in the area. It seemed that all the hills in the area were actually tombs.

Shanghai is trying so hard to be ultra-modern. So many western thoughts and ideas along with many more International residents.

I am looking forward to being able to visit again some day. Hopefully next time I will be able to relax and enjoy the time like a local.

Thank you so much again for all the help. I was really suprised when Stephen offered the phone to me while walking down the Sacred Road. It was wonderfull to finally get to talk to you and hear your voice. I am very impressed by how well you speak English. My friend in Shanghai doesn't even speak that well.

I will be sure to recommend China Odyssey Tours to any of my friends that want to travel to your country.

I will answer each question in order.

Yoko, at China Odyssey Tours, answered all questions quickly and efficiently.

The tour arrangements were very good. It was very well organised and our guide, Shen Lin (Judy), was friendly, helpful, with a warm personality, and made our visit most memorable.

We recommend China Odyssey Tours to anyone who would like to visit China. We are already telling our friends what a good time we had with you.

Now I am writing to you from Helsinki, Finland, where I have stopped over (for one night) on my way to Vienna and then Poland and Israel. Most definitely next time I will visit more things in China, including hopefully, Giulin. I will most certainly be making a return visit to China, as I enjoyed myself very much. Hi Yoko,

Sorry for the delayed response. I'm glad you got the little gifts. I do volunteer work at the Kennedy Center. I work every Sunday night. I was the historian also and just recently finished writing a 30 year history of the volunteer organization. It is a fun place to volunteer.

The train was really very interesting and Charles made it through the train trip ok. It definitely was a long ride but worth it! I just recommended you to some people I met who hope to make a trip in the next year. I'll forward the email I sent to her just as information for you. Please do not contact her yet though.

The trip was so good. You will see some of my thoughts in the email I will be forwarding. The Panda Research Center in Chengdu was a very special highlight for me. I was so happy to see the great effort Chengdu makes to improve the air quality for the pandas! The ride there was exciting because of the road conditions. It actually took about 5 hours to get there and about 10 hours to return because of a traffic jam! The drive in Chengdu was so good how he managed the road and driving! The train through Tibet was beautiful! I was amazed at the large size of Lhasa. For some reason I expected a much smaller town and the Tibetan culture to be more prominent. The Shanghai Museum is beautiful and a full day should be allowed to see it. There is so much there to read and learn about. I think it is one of the best museums anywhere.

This is Linda Gutman finally getting a message to you.

We have been home a month now from China and we have been so busy that I am way behind in important correspondence.

I especially want to mention the tour guides who helped us, and the drivers. I will say more in my final “report” but I did want to mention our Guilin guide, Merrick Li. He was excellent with arrangements, knowledgeable, very upbeat and positive, and a general pleasure to spend time with. We are even continuing a correspondence.

I hope things are going well for you. Is the weather cooling down yet?

Again, thanks for now for all you did to make our trip a success. We were so well taken care of! Xiexie!!!!

Dear Yoko

The arrangement you set up for me worked out very well. Everything from hotel, timing, transport and guiding worked very smoothly. In particular I was very pleased with the local guide - Ms Libby, who appeared to be very knowlegdable about the mountain and the region. She had an excellent command of the English language and had a nice personality.

I was very much impressed by the Yellow Mountain area - what was there from nature's hand and what you have been able to make out of it. I saw the canyon being fille with fog and the beautiful sight of the mountain peaks above the clouds - a fantastic view.

I am very happy with the arrangement and for me it was 10/10. It is fantastic to be able to set up sunch an arrangement purely via E-mail, from the other side of the globe and to see that it really works.

If I ever go on a similar trip to China, I will definitively contact you first and I have no problem in recommending you to my best friends (or anyone else)

Dear Yoko

Just to let you know i have arrived home safely to the UK!.

It was a long flight and it is now 4 am in the morning as I cannot sleep because my body is still on China time...haha!.

I will write more in a few days as i am planning on writing a little story and have lots of photos.

We had a great trip in China.

I am enclosing some feedback.

Our Tour Operator responded quickly and was very friendly and helpful. She helped us personalize our tour by adding an extra day and making the meals vegetarian. All the arrangements were great. We had our own vehicle with air-conditioning, and our own tour guide. Since the tour was personalized just for us, we could stay for as long as we wanted at each location. It was easy to understand the tour guides' English, and they had a lot of fascinating knowledge to share.

It was nice to have all transportation, hotels, flights, and guides taken care of for us. The trip was enjoyable and stress free. I would recommend this service to others.
