Thanks for all your assistance in arranging the just completed six-day Beijing-Xian tour for Carol Frescoln and me.

I am sorry about our early Saturday morning November 8 call to your cell phone concerning a revised arrival flight schedule later that night. We thought our message would be recorded without disturbing you.

We greatly enjoyed the tour direction provided by Summer in Beijing and Gloria in Xian. Both ladies were very helpful and considerate. It was also a delightful surprise when Summer met us at Beijing Airport upon our return from Xian to lead Carol and me between passenger terminals. Overall, we had a great time, met many friendly people and learned much about China. I will recommend China Odyssey Tours to anyone who is considering a visit to your country.

Dear Maggie,

Thank you for your recent message. Yes we had a pleasant journey back home and we have not stopped talking about our trip to China since we came back. Everyone around us wants to know how it went and see some photos. There is so much to tell, we don't know where to start!

Yes we do plan to make a travelogue of the whole experience, including our son's wedding and a selection of the hundreds of photographs we took. But we have not managed to do it yet. I will send you a Picasa web link to some photos, together with a commentary on our trip, hopefully within the next month.

In the meantime, I can tell you that we were very impressed with the organization of the tour and all the guides and drivers. We certainly would recommend China Odyssey Tours to friends who may be planning a trip to China.

Now that we are home and experiencing torrential rain (Nives excepted), we think back on our wonderful Chinese experience and the summer temperatures we enjoyed there.

We have returned from Beijing and Xian and I wanted to say thank you for all the work you did on our behalf. We really enjoyed our time in China and have taken home some great memories. I couple of comments about our tour guides:

1) Jack in Beijing was excellent. He was very professional and organized and helpful. I would highly recommend him to others.

2) George in Xian was also good but we were a bit puzzled when he gave us evaluation forms in the airport and asked us to fill them out and give them back to him. This did not give us much time to do this and I felt it was not professional for George to get our evaluations directly.

Overall it was still an awesome trip and I know others from Macau plan to take a similar tour next year so I will forward your name and contact information on to them.

Dear Karen,

Thank you so much for all your help. We thoroughly enjoyed our whole Chinese holiday and are already declaring it one of the best ever. Everything ran like clockwork and we had a brilliant time. Hello Karen,

We had a great trip. I would definitely recommend COT. Having a personal guide and driver is the best way to travel.

Karen was very responsive. She responded to my emails (many of them) very fast and answered all of my questions.

The arrangements were excellent. I think the choices of cities chosen were just what we wanted to see and the sites were very interesting and worth seeing. I chose some cities to visit but Karen select Kunming (The Stone Forest was worth seeing), Dali (Loved our visit to Lake Erhai and the climb to see the temple), Lijing (Loved the visit to the Baisha Township and the Museum of the Naxi Dongba Cultuer in the Black Dragon Pool Park as well as the Wang Fu Hotel), and last of all our visit to Zhongidian (The trip to Bita Lake was very scenic and we did not have to ride a horse to get to get up the mountain ,and the Songtsam Hotel was great and would recommend this one over the new one that is being built).

We especially like the Impressions Show in Yangshuo and the performance at the National Center for Performing Arts in Beijing. Note that we had to pay a small fee to take the cable car up to the Great Wall in Mutianyu.

We appreciated the service of COT. The best way to see China is with a private guide and driver. You don’t have to stay at 5* hotels so cost is comparable to a group tour and you don’t need to have big meals for dinner since the lunches were quite filling.

COT is very well organized and the staff is well trained. The COT web site with the references from people who used their service convinced me that COT was the organization we wanted.

Hello Maggie,

I feel good to be at home but I would feel happy to be in Guilin looking at the peach blossom river the dragon teeth mountains knowing you are around and spend some more time together with you, what else can i say after one visit to Guilin the most beautiful town in China and having my best friend living there.

Thank you again for the romantic supper which I fully enjoyed. I was just a bit sick and do apologize for not having been the way I am usually are and on top the temperature was a bit too high for me but your company was one of the highlights during my second visit to China.

The first day in Longsheng was magic and exhausting to reach the top of the mountain but i had my training already two weeks earlier walking up and down thousands of steps on top of the Yellow Mountains at the Huang Shan Scenic Area, after this experience and another walk on the mountain at 3800 meters, the climb to the top at Longsheng was rather easy.

The view over the terraced rice paddies where awesome and i also managed to make photos of a Yao Lady and her long hair what an experience to see her to undo the hair showing the length and tie it up on top of her head again but i will send you lots of photos just give me some time as i have made about 1300 !!! And it takes a while to sort them out.

The boat cruise on the Li River was a wonderful experience which I will never forget and the arrival at the little town Yangshuo full of vibes like West Street and I managed thanks to Teresa to watch the Impression show in the evening produced and directed by the same person which did the opening ceremony at the Olympic Games in Beijing, what a show it has been, I have never seen something like that.

Jima Road cycling was also something beautiful and I made plenty photos and believe it or not Teresa battled to follow me on the bicycle.

The two pagodas, Elephant Trunk Hill and not to forget the Reed Flute Cave was a spectacular departure from GUILIN and my eyes are building up with tears when i think about it again.

My long visit to China was a total success, worth another visit one day to Beijing boarding the train to Tibet. Stay at Base Camp below Mount Everest and the last stop in GUILIN but for a few days longer.

I have arrived safely back in the UK, Philip remains in Kazakstan.

I am emailing you to say what a wonderful holiday we had. The sights, culture, scenery and my experience of China will remain with me for a long time as one of the most enjoyable holidays of my life.

The service we received throughout was excellent, our guides were knowledgable, organized and efficient and always on time, when we agreed a time to meet they were there. Please pass on my special thanks to Jessica (Beijing), Zoe (Xian), Li (Guilin) and Jade (Shanghai) our other guides were brilliant but we only spent a few hours with some so did not get to know them so well as we did the ones mentioned.

They certainly took the hassle out of our sightseeing and we were able to enjoy our visits to the historical sites.

Our drivers were also excellent, and I cannot fault our accommodation, which was a luxury and just needed after a busy day sightseeing.

I would not hesitate to recommend China Odyssey Tour for its personalized service it gives its clients.

Hello Maggie:

I want to "Thank You" for planning such a great tour for us.

Kathy was great and knew her, "stuff". Each tour was steeped with history. I can not say enough about her! She went out of her way to accommodate us. Her English is excellent. You must be very pleased and proud of her!

Our driver Mr. Lee was great, even though, I'm sure we tried his patience on many occasions, he was always smiling, went out of his way to assist us, always had fresh water available to us and finally, manipulated his way through Beijing traffic like an expert.

Beijing is such a modern city, the cleanliness, the architecture, the friendliness of the people and the enviromental conscientiousness are all a tribute.

Our hotel was great. The meals were excellent, more than enough food. Although, I found the one drink limit strange, we survived and ordered extra on our own.

I am looking forward to returning to China next year and I will book with China Odyssey again.

Once again, Thank You Maggie. I enjoyed myself and I would not hesitate in recommending China Odyssey to anyone.

Glad to hear from you. I had a wonderful time in China (WHAT A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY!!!!!!!) Thank you for all the attention and the great customer service. China Odyssey is definitely a company that I will always recommend to all my friends.

Some of my best memories are some additional suggestions that were done by my guides. I was able to do all the following in 7 days: Hong Kong , Li cruise river, cable car to top of Guilin, Yangshuo, Impression show in Yangshuo, bamboo rafting in Yangshuo, Elephant trunk hill, Reed flute cave, Dafo(Grand Buddha) in Leshan, Panda breeding center in Chengdu, Terracota warriors in Xian, Drum and bell tower, Opera show in Xian, Great Wall,Sacred road, ming tomb, Forbidden city, Tiannemen square in Bejing, lama temple, temple of heaven, acrobatic show.

I enjoyed the flexibility I had to alternate with my activities. My guide (and driver) in Guilin and Chengdu were EXCEPTIONAL (smart and knowledgable).My Guide and driver in Xian were good.

And of course Sophie, you were great. you have great customer service skills and your company should be very proud of you !! you are a great and valuable asset to China Odyssey.

I hope that we'll keep in touch and who knows.I might be back in China one day!

We were looked after every step of the way. From collection at Beijing airport to departure at Xian Airport.

Our tour guides really made our trip enjoyable. Their knowledge of history was amazing and they made the sights come to life for us.Our cars were comfortable and the drivers very careful.

I just wanted to write and tell you what a great holiday we had in Yunnan. The guides were just gorgeous people and so knowledgeable and the itinerary was varied and interesting. It was good too to have some time to ourselves. We loved the hotel in Lijiang!! It was in a perfect location and so charming!

I am a committee member of the Australian Association in HK and have in the past arranged short trips for our members. We usually do this through a travel agent in HK but I will pass on the details of your company to the member who will organise the trip next year as I have been so impressed by your service! Unfortunately we are leaving HK to go back to Australia at the end of this year, so it is unlikely that I will be making any more trips in China, but I have told all my friends about you and I'm sure some of them will use your service in the future.

Hello, Sophie:

Sorry for the long silent, but I was really busy and not at my office. Our trip was wonderful. Everything was perfect and like I expected.

We enjoyed our hotel in Beijing, although it was perhaps not easy for our driver to drive the car in that hutong. But he managed it perfectly. We were very happy in Datong too. Our guide, Peach, was very kind with my daughter and was always careful for our happiness.

We enjoyed very much our trip in Guilin and Yangshou. Teresa, our guide, did the maximum to find us bicycles and a map of the country. We thought that we would see terrace rice fields in the neighbourhood of Yangshou. We did not know that we had to go to Longshen for that. So we were a bit disappointed. I would have added one day if I had known. I think you could suggest it to your further clients.

No problems at all in Shanghai. We found it a very big and busy city. Our driver have had some problems to find Xitang, but we arrived and we found the city very beautiful.

If we have the opportunity to visit the district of Yunnan, we will surely come to your agency.
