Highlights: This extensive tour was designed for people who wish to see how Beijing's ancient Imperial families and local residents lived. Visitors will see where the Emperor's lived at the Forbidden City, Fragrant Hills Park, Beihai Park, Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven, see how their religious practices at the Lama Temple, and see the splendor in which they were buried at the Ming Tombs and the Sacred Road. People on this tour will also get a chance to visit the gigantic Imperial Summer Villa, Puning and Putuozongcheng temple complexes at Chengde. Visitors will visit a local family and see how local residents have lived for centuries in one of Beijing's hutongs. The highlights of this tour will be the hike along the Badaling section of the Great Wall and the visit to Beijing Zoo to see some of China's living treasures.

 

                             Day-by-day Tour Itinerary

 Day 1 Arrive Beijing

Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel
Transfer via: International Flight on your own arrangement
Upon your arrival at Beijing airport, our local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.

 Day 2 Beijing

Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel
Meals: B,L
Sightseeing: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven
Today you will first visit the historic Tiananmen Square, and then the magnificent Forbidden City. In the afternoon, you will marvel at Beijing's splendid Temple of Heaven.

 Day 3 Beijing

Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel
Meals: B,L,D
Sightseeing: Great Wall, Ding Tomb, Sacred Road
Special Dinner: Peking Duck Dinner
Today's full-day excursion will take you to the majestic Great Wall (Badaling section), the Ding Tomb of Ming Tombs and Sacred road. Enjoy a famous Peking Duck Banquet for dinner.

 Day 4 Beijing

Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel

Sightseeing: Summer Palace ,Fragrance Hills Park, Beijing Zoo
Full day trip to the exquisite Summer Palace, the Fragrance Hills Park and Beijing Zoo.

 Day 5 Beijing

Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel

Sightseeing: Hutongs, Beihai (north lake) Park, Lama Temple (Yonghe Lamasery)
Today you will visit Hutongs by rickshaw. Lunch will be served in one of the local people's home during the tour. And then visit the Lama Temple and the Beihai Park.

 Day 6 Beijing

Free in the day to explore this old city by yourself.

 Day 7 Beijing / Chengde

Accommodations: Qianyang Hotel
Meals: B,L
Sightseeing: Imperial Summer Villa
Transfer via: Soft-seat train on our arrangement (6.30am-10.48am)
In the morning, our local guide will help you transfer to the railway station for your train to Chengde(245km, about 4hours). Upon Arrival at Chengde, you will be met and escorted to the hotel. The tour this afternoon will bring you to the Imperial Summer Villa.

 Day 8 Chengde / Beijing

Accommodations: Jianguo Garden Hotel
Meals: B,L
Sightseeing: Putuozongcheng Temple, Puning Temple
Transfer via: Soft-seat train on our arrangement
Enjoy a half-day visit to Puning Temple and Putuozongcheng Temple before your train back to Beijing. Our local guide in Beijing will meet you at railway station and escort you to the hotel.

 Day 9 Beijing / Departure

Meals: B
On this day your guide will escort you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.

  • If you plan to climb the Badaling Great Wall, you can visit the Sacred Road and Ding Tomb en route. Visitors to the Mutianyu Great Wall can not visit the Sacred Road and Ding Tomb on the same day.
