Special Notes of Beijing Travel
Every morning, thousands of local people get together in various parks doing morning exercises which form a very special sight of Beijing. Such as running, jogging, dancing, singing, there are also persons playing Taiji (shadow boxing) in the parks.
Get to the popular spots during off-peak hours to avoid the flocks of tourists, early in the day before 8 o'clock in the morning, especially when you plan to visit the Temple of Heaven. In the morning, the temple attracts thousand local residents to perform their regular routines of exercise, such as traditional Chinese music, calligraphy, Peking Opera, martial arts, or Tai Ji exercises. It is quite peaceful and entertaining to watch the people all around you. And if you feel like it, you're always welcome to join. So the best time to visit is early in the morning, a great way to start the day.
Beijing Panjiayuan market is the largest one among the three secondhand goods markets in Beijing, which is located in the south loop. Its weekly open occurs at 6. Various antique paintings, four treasures of the study, porcelain and wooden furniture are sold here.
If you are looking for antiques, Panjiayuan and Liulichang must be the place to go.
Juyongguan Pass is located in an 18 kilometer-long valley named 'Guangou' which is inside Changping County more than 50 kilometers from Beijing City. It is one of the three greatest passes of Great Wall of China.
The Great Wall is accessed by most at Badaling, but increasingly by tourists at Mutianyu and even Simatai (right on the border with Hebei province). However, compared with the Badaling-Juyong Tour, other Great Wall Tours cost a little bit more because of the distance and accessibilityFactors, such as season, accessibility, safety and health condition should be taken into account when visiting the Great Wall. Different sections of the Great Wall present different features and different sceneries.
Badaling and Juyong Pass are the most sightworthy and most easily accessible part of the Wall, with good and convenient tourist facilities.
The scenery of Mutianyu Great Wall is extremely beautiful in autumn.
The section between Jinshanling and Simatai (a favourite for foreign hikers especially) requires more physical stamina to climb.
