COT-CDT-12 7 Nights & 8 Days Best of Sichuan Tour

Day 1

Upon arriving in Chengdu, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel for a rest before visiting the Sanxingdui Museums, and Wenshu Temple where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house to enjoy a cup of tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu. In the evening you will enjoy a delicious dinner of local Sichuan food.

Day 2

On this day you will be driven about 2 hours to Leshan and visit the Giant Buddha carved out of the cliffs at the confluence of the Dadu, Minjiang and Qingyi Rivers. After, you will be driven to Mt. Emei to visit Baoguo Temple. You will stay overnight at the foot of Mt. Emei.

Day 3

On this day you will visit Mt. Emei. The touring bus will bring you to Leidongping first, where you need to walk to Jieyin Palace to take the cable car up to appreciate the natural scenery around Golden Summit, descend by the cable car and take the bus to Wannian Temple parking lot, where you will take the cable car up to visit the Wannian (Myriad Years) Temple which is the field for Samantabhadra, walk through Qingyin (Pure Note) Pavilion-the biggest natural ecology reserve area for monkeys, till you get to Wuxiangang parking lot to take the touring bus down to the foot of the mountain. After your tour of Mt. Emei, you will be driven back to Chengdu.

Day 4

On this morning, you will be driven about 8 to 9 hours through Guanghan, Mianyang, and Jiangyou Valleys, across the beautiful Dujuan Mountain (3400m altitude), to arrive at Jiuzhaigou Town at 2000m altitude in the evening. Along the way, you will get a chance enjoy the scenery of northern Sichuan with several rest stops.

Day 5

On this day you will enjoy a tour to the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. The highest part is Long Lake at 3100m above sea level. You can then take the tourist bus to the top, then walk down part way and take the bus down the rest of the way.

Day 6

On this morning, you will be driven about 2.5 hours to visit the Huanglong Scenic Area. After the tour, you will be driven to Mao County, about 5 hours. Along the way, you will pass through the famous Diexi Lake which was formed by a Big Earthquake in 1933. You will stay overnight at Mao County.

Day 7

On this morning you will be driven about 2 to 3 hours to the Wolong Nature Reserve, home of the Giant Pandas. After checking in the hotel and eating lunch, you will visit the Giant Panda Museum and Giant Panda Garden, where you can get very close to these cute animals and get better understanding of the Giant Panda.

Day 8

After breakfast your local guide will escort you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
