Chongqing City has been a transportation hub in China for centuries. It is famous for its Spicy food, hot springs, and Chongqing's beauties. Normally just visited for just one day by tourists taking a cruise down the Yangtze River, this city has much to offer. Visitors can visit an ancient guild hall, spend a relaxing afternoon on the banks of the Yangtze River in one of the cities many tea houses, or stroll through the Porcelain Village showing what the ancient city of Chongqing looked like. There is much to do and see in this ancient city.




The Huguang Guild House was built in the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It was created as an early form of union hall. It was expanded many times turning it into a sprawling complex of buildings, courtyards, and gardens. It is a classic example of an ancient Chinese Guild hall.




CiQi Kou Porcelain Village has a history of over 1,000 years. It is an existing section of Chongqing's ancient city streets. It was originally famed as a porcelain producing center in Chongqing. The buildings date from the Ming and Qing Dynasty, and feature many shops, and courtyard homes. It is a wonderful place to do some shopping for local arts and crafts, as well as sample a large variety of Chongqing's traditional snacks.






The Dazu Grottos located 160km from Chongqing was created through three different ancient dynasties. The grottos contain over 50,000 figures and are primarily Buddhist in theme. They are a complete system of Buddhist doctrine carved in three dimensions. In the center of the largest grotto complex is a large carving of Sakyamuni, the Buddha, which is surrounded by over 20 different statues of his followers. Each cave in the Dazu Grottos has its own style and each carving is beautifully carved and exquisitely detailed. In 1999 the Dazu Grottos was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List.








Eling Park is located on the Yuzhong peninsula and occupies the highest point in Chongqing. During World War II it was home to Chain Kai Shek and several Western embassies. It has since been transformed into a beautiful park featuring many flowers, trees, and gardens. Located on the highest point of the park is a modern pagoda built during the 1980's. It was built of modern design making it unique among Chinese pagodas. Eling Park is a peaceful place to escape the hustle and bustle of modern Chongqing.






Chongqing Zoo:
The Chongqing Zoo is located in the western suburbs of Chongqing. It occupies more than 60 hectares of land. There are more than 230 kinds of rare wild animals on display in the zoo. Among all of the residents of the Chongqing Zoo, the pandas are the most popular
