10 Days Pleasant China Impression Tour

Dear Sophie,

Thanks for your email.  We had a good experience in China.  The tour guides we had were all well-informed, on time and pleasant to talk to.  Our tour guide Michael in Shanghai was especially helpful and flexible.  He responded well to our request to see the Expo site during our last afternoon in Shanghai, and to our request to ride the maglev train on our way to the airport.

The shows we attended were very good - the Kungfu Show in Beijing, the "Dumpling and Dance" dinner at Xian,  the "Third Sister" Water-and-lights Show (also called Impression Sanjiu Liu Night Show) at Yangshuo, Guilin, and the amazing Acrobatic Show in Shanghai.  The museums were also very interesting.

We thought the food and the company very good at the lunch we had on June 5 in the Hootong section of Beijing (at the Kung Fu master's house).  We also very much enjoyed the lunch we had the next day at a roadside restaurant near the Great Wall. The lunches we had in downtown Beijing on June 7 and the lunch at Shanghai on June 12 were good, but not so tasty.

The hotels were all excellent. Our younger son really appreciated the chance to have a western-style breakfast each day. In Yangshuo, one of the rooms had a few mosquitoes in it because a previous guest had left the sliding door ajar, but the hotel staff promptly treated the room and got rid of the them.

Overall, we had a very good and memorable experience in China.  I am sure some of us (our sons, especially) will return to China more than once in the future.

Sophie, thanks for arranging such a pleasant and educational tour for us.  Sorry we didn't get to meet you in person.

Sincerely,

Roger Bonilla from USA
