  2. What is the difference between Private tours and SIC tours?

Private tours are fully escorted packages, which means in each city, you will have your own professional tour guide speaking your language and a private air-conditioned car/van/coach with your private driver at your service during your staying there, from meeting you at the airport (or train station) upon your arrival, showing you around, till seeing you off at the airport (or train station) for your next destination. If you take our private package, you will not be mixed with other tourists when sightseeing and transferring except that you take the Yangtze River Cruise and Li River Cruise.
SIC tours stands for Seat-in-Coach Tours, which means you will share an air-conditioned coach with other tourists and you will have an English-speaking tour guide to take you to all the scenic spots listed in the Itinerary that day. Usually your tour guide will contact you the night before to inform you about the next day's departure time, and the next day our coach (bus)and guide will go from hotel to hotel to pick up guests who signed up the tour for the day.
Compared with Private tours, SIC tours are usually less expensive than the Private tours, but Private tours are more flexible.
Note: If you have 5 or more people in the group, we recommend you take our private package because the price gets very close to that of SIC.

  4. What is the high season? What is the definition for the high season, shoulder season and low season?
High season refers to the part of a year when the weather conditions and other factors are the best for traveling and usually there are more people traveling in the high season, so it's always the busiest time for the hotels, airlines, and travel agencies. Thus the price of hotel, air tickets, etc. is comparatively higher than that in other seasons.
High season, shoulder season and low season is defined as:
High season: April 1st to May 31st, Sep 1st to Oct 31st
Shoulder season: June 1st to Aug 31st & Nov 1st to Nov 31st
Low season: Dec 1st to Mar 31st
There are slight differences of definition of this between different hotels, airlines, travel agencies in different regions.
In Tibet high season is from July 1 to Oct 15. The rest of the year is the low season.
China Odyssey Tours reserves the right to modify the definition of different seasons.
Note: If you plan to travel during the high season, we suggest that you make reservations two to three months prior to your departure date.
