Huangshan Pictures: The Ancient Villages
Hongcun was our first stop and i fell in love with the place. It was truly an eye opener, a marvelous landscape. This well-preserved traditional village built by the Anhui merchants in the Qing Dynasty was was listed as UNESCO World Heritage site in November 2000. Yet no one seems to have written anything about this village here in VT, perhaps that explains why foreign tourists were so rare in the village.
