Macau Opens Panda Theme Park

01/19/2011 17:13:49

Hoi Hoi and Sam Sam (also called Kai Kai and Xin Xin), two adorable pandas from Chengdu Research Base of Panda Breeding, started to meet fans in their new home Macau Seac Pai Van Park from January 19, 2011. Now Macau citizens have their own giant pandas and can enjoy up-close with them in town.

The fan-meeting is only available to students, the elders and some related associates at present. The panda themed park will open to the public on April 28th, 2011. So most Macau people still have to wait for 3 months to see the national treasure.

Background Knowledge

Macau Panda Tour, Macau Travel Guide

Hoi Hoi and Sam San enjoy their time in the new home.

Hoi Hoi and Sam Sam, meaning happiness in Chinese, were given to Macau as a present & good wish from China's central government. They arrived in Macau on December 18, 2010 via an express panda plane. After a warm welcome from Macau officials and panda lovers at the airport, the two were transferred to their 3,000 square meters house in Seac Pai Van and began a 30-day quarantine. From Jan. 19, the Macau Panda Park has begun a trial operation, which will last for 3 months. And the Park will open officially the visitors from April 28th, 2011.

Tailor-make a Macau Tour to see the famous colonial & historic heritages and see the real cuddly pandas in close.
