Hotel Room Occupancy in Hong Kong to Reach 90%

The period around Christmas is the hot consumer season in Hong Kong, and many tourists from mainland China are flocking there for shopping, making hotel room occupancies reach 90%.

Shopping malls in Hong Kong are offering great discounts to attract more tourists. At present, the status of hotel rooms in Hong Kong is very busy, and the room rate has a general 20%-30% markup.

A representative from the Hong Kong Tourism Board discloses that the hotel room occupancy has reached about 90% in Hong Kong, and compared with past years, this year more tourists prefer going to Hong Kong during the period before or after Christmas because usually flight fares and hotel rooms will be very expensive during Christmas day.
