Huangshan: Lotus Peak closed down for ecosystem protection

2007-08-08 01:18:15

COT News - The Lotus Peak area of Huangshan will be closed down from public access this year mainly for ecosystem protection and will be re-opened five years later (2012). During the 5 years’ closedown, COT can still arrange for you to trek around the other fascinating areas of Huangshan Mountains.

The Lotus Peak is the highest peak of Mt. Huangshan. This 1,864-meter (6,115-foot)-high peak looks like a blooming lotus, hence the name.
