2010 Shanghai Tourism Festival to Kick off on September 12

2010 Shanghai Tourism Festival, the city's most popular annual carnival, will kick off on September 12th at the flourishing Huaihai Road in Luwan District. In the following 24 days that the festival lasts, visitors could attend series of festive activities to enjoy the wonderful urban life of this amazing oriental metropolis.

The tourism festival will begin with a stirring Floats Parade, comprising 28 fully-decorated floats and performing teams and cruising along the 2.2-km-long Huaihai Road. 10 floats from China and 18 from other parts of the world will stage on various fantastic cultural shows like exotic dances, thrilling acrobatics and melodious music march, making the parade a miniature of "world expo of performing arts".

Among the list are the well-known performing teams like the Merlin Orchestral from Switzerland, Russian Dancers and the Finnish Samba Dancers, etc. Visitors might come across their favorite floats or the art team from their own country on site.

Besides the parade, Shanghai International Fireworks Show, Huang River Cruise, Shanghai Shopping Festival, Rose Wedding Ceremony, 2010 Shanghai Street Dance Competition and dozens of other programs are smartly scheduled for visitors during Shanghai Tourism Festival. For those who are fond of falvored food and snacks, the Super Brand Mall on the famous Bund, will host a Food Festival from September 22nd to 24th, supplying delicacies from all over world.
