Long-Hair Village and the Red Yao Minority: |

Huangluo Yao village is home to the Red Yao people, so called as the women favor red clothing. The village is also known as the Long-hair Village. According to tradition, women cut their hair only once in their lives - at about 16 to 18 years old. You will see the long-haired women washing their 4-foot long hair along the riverbanks. The secret of beautiful, long, jet black hair is that they wash their hair with "rice water" (water used to rinse rice). Yao people like singing centuries-old folksongs. You can enjoy the wonderful songs and dancing of Red Yao girls with their long hair. More details |

The area around Guilin has distinctive Karst topography, Erosion has left the rock a perfect surface for climbing. Yangshuo is a paradise for rock climbing and has about 300 climbing routes of different difficulty levels.
The most famous crag is Moon Hill, which was first climbed in 1992. Other climbs include Panda Hill, Middle Finger Hill, and Golden Cat Cave, etc. Most climbing routes are about 20 to 25 meters high, but some reach 40 meters in length.
It is easy for experienced climbers to find a partner. For beginners and climbers without equipment, there are seven clubs in Yangshuo that offer equipment rental and climbing guides, etc. More details |

Fuli Ancient Village: |

Fuli is an ancient village near Yangshuo. It is surrounded on three sides by mountains and one side by the Li River. Cycling from Yangshuo to Fuli, you will enjoy amazing scenery and local lifestyle.
Fuli is a dock on the Li River. In ancient times, there were no roads, so the Li River was the only way to communicate.
Fuli is the only place that has the Ma Zu religion in mainland China. On the 8th day of the 5th lunar month, there is a big temple fair to worship Ma Zu.
It is also the hometown of hand-painted paper fans which feature the beautiful Guilin landscape, stunning sights of Yangshuo, flowers, birds, fish, etc. More details |
