What people say about China Odyssey Tours

I am sending this email to commend the quality of the services provided to me by Fay Chen. I do not enjoy group travel tours and therefore I always arrange my own travel. Many individuals warned me that independent travel is extremely difficult in China. When I contacted travel agents in America they would only refer me to tour companies. However Ms. Chen not only was able to book the numerous flights to the various cities that I required ,but she provided me with excellent advise on how many days to stay at each city. Lastly Ms. Chen even called me while I was in China to make sure that I wasn't having any problems with the arrangements that we had made. My trip was a spectacular success and Ms. Chen was a key component to that success.

I can summarize by saying all of my thoughts are favorable. I have a strong belief that you -- Violet Yuan -- are one of China's national treasures. Your competence, courtesy, and willingness to make every attempt to see that I had a good tour experience was, I believe, the major reason the trip was as enjoyable as any I have taken -- and I have roamed the world. I have no criticism of any aspect. One must expect, and be content with, for example, the fact that Hotel Niya in Minfeng will have no water, hot or cold, in the mornings! Even the fact that, using chop sticks, my food was as likely to go on the floor as in my mouth, resulted in no weight loss during the trip. I really can think of no way you can improve. I do wish, however, that there was some way China Odyssey Tours could become better known. I am sure there are many Americans who would like to deal directly with a reliable tour company in China. I just don't travel if I can not have direct contact with those in a country who will be arranging my travel.

Myself and two friends recently used your services in Guilin. Our guide was Chris and I just want to say what a superb guide she was. She made our stay there very enjoyable and her tours were very informative and interesting. Our van driver was a very good driver and the van itself was spotless.

My wife and I would like to express our appreciation for the excellent tour which China Odyssey arranged for our travel through eight cities in China. We found all the travel arrangements to be faultless and the tour guides to be friendly, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. The English speaking guides were understanding of our "western" needs and showed us to hotels of high standard.

The tour itself was well planned and we saw everything from the fascinating history of old China archeology in Beijing and Xian, to the real beauty of the countryside and country lifestyle in Southern China at Kunming, Lijiang and Guilen. We left China with the satisfaction of having received good value for money and sure that we had had a good appreciation of the real China.

Yes ,we had a very delightful trip to China. The trip was excellent and the side excursions delightful. All guides and personal were very nice. I especially liked the tour to the Stillwell Museum and Fling Tiger Museum in Chonquing and the very informative guide that we had for the day. We had more than enough time in Xa'ing. The visit is a must. Shanghai was every bit as impressive as I had expected. We spent all four nights in the Regency club which was two nights more than expected and the nicest hotel in which I have ever stayed. Some good restraint recommendations would have been appreciated. We took the night cruse on the river which was very interesting. I enjoyed golf at the Shanghai Links Golf coarse . Our guide in Shanghai was not the best. He had bad breath,was poorly shaved most of the time, wrinkled shirt and did not appear well informed. However he smiled a lot and was accommodating.The driver was most cooperative and good.
