Day 1
Upon your arrival at Gonggar airport, you will be met by your local guide and escorted to your hotel in Lhasa city (2-hour drive), you will view a Giant Stone Buddha carved into a cliff face en route. After checking in the hotel, rest for a while to get adapted to the high altitude.
Day 2
Your tour today will include Lhasa's cardinal landmarks, the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and the flourishing Barkhor Street.
Day 3
On this day you will be taken to the Norbulingka Park, and then the Sera Monastery. In the late afternoon, you will visit a Tibetan Family.
Day 4
You will be driven to Nagqu (338km, about 6 to 7 hours). Along the way, you will visit Yangpachen and watch the breathtaking Northern Tibetan Landscape pass by en route.
Day 5
On this day you will get to experience the Nagqu Horse Racing Festival, where you will be entertained along with local Tibetans for the whole day.
Day 6
After breakfast you will be driven to Lake Nam Co where you can walk along the lake shore to enjoy the natural beauty and later spend the night in Damxung County.
Day 7
You will be driven back to Lhasa. After taking a rest in Lhasa, a farewell dinner will be arranged at a Tibetan restaurant for you to enjoy local Tibetan food with traditional singing and dancing.
Day 8
On this day you will be free until your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
Notice: 1. The Nagqu Horse Racing Festival is held in August every year.
2. Accommodations at Dangxiong are very simple and not luxurious like accommodations found in the bigger cities.
