7 Days Student Group Tour to Guilin and Chengdu

Day 1 Friday 19-March-2010 ()
Arrival / Beijing (Transfer via: International flight arranged by you )
Upon your arrival at Guilin, the most scenic city in China, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or head out into the city for a little adventure on your own.

Day 2 Saturday 20-March-2010 (B,L,D)
Guilin / Yangshuo (Transfer via: By boat arranged by China Odyssey Tours )
In the morning, you will be driven to Zhujiang Pier (about 40-minute drive) to start the boat cruise along the tranquil Li River. Along the river, you will be inspired by breathtaking views of peaks and pinnacles, crystal-clear water and reflections in the water together with the serene pastoral views of rice paddies and water buffaloes. At Yangshuo, after roaming through the West Street, you can learn Calligraphy in the guidance of a master, to appreciate the essence of this ancient writing art.

* West Street: is a busy and exotic slate street in Yangshuo County, where you can relax yourself and do some souvenir shopping or experience the local lifestyle.

* Calligraphy: is an art dating back to the earliest day of history, and widely practiced throughout China to this day. Learning calligraphy is much of fun and use.

* Li River Cruise: the highlight of Guilin tours. You will be inspired by breathtaking views of peaks and pinnacles, crystal-clear water and serene pastoral views of rice paddies.

Day 3 Sunday 21-March-2010 (B,L,D)
Yangshuo / Guilin / Chengdu (Transfer via: Private van arranged & Domestic flight arranged by China Odyssey Tours )
In the morning, you will be taken on a bike tour along Jima Road to see the peaceful village and local’s life before you are transferred back to Guilin (1.5-hour drive).
Then you will visit Guilin Art Museum and Reed Flute Cave before your transfer to the airport for your next destination. In Guilin Art Museum, you could learn skills of miraculous Chinese Ink Painting; in the Reed Flute Cave, you will be marveled at bizarre stalactites & stalagmites famed as "natural art" .
Upon arriving in Chengdu, you will be greeted and escorted by your guide to the hotel for a rest before being taken out for a delicious Sichuan Cuisine for dinner at a local restaurant.

* Bike tour: cycling along serene road in the countryside, you will enjoy the beautiful rice paddies, amazing views and take a deep breath for fresh air.

* Sichuan Cuisine: Hot pot of Sichuan Cuisine is famous in the world for its unique spicy favor, which is also Chengdu people's favorite. You would love it just by one try.

* Chinese Ink Painting: As an ancient art, traditional Chinese painting has developed continuously over six thousand years. The beautiful paintings can help you understand China better.

* Reed Flute Cave: famed as "A Natural Palace of Art", you can see lots of stalactites & stalagmites illuminated by the lights of different colors and learn how they were formed.

Day 4 Monday 22-March-2010 (B,L,D)
Chengdu
In the morning, you will be transferred to Ya'an to visit the Bifengxia Panda Breeding Centre, which is richly endowed with natural conditions suitable for pandas. In the center, you can stay close to the pandas and even hug a panda on your own.
You will stay overnight in Bifengxia for a good rest for the next day.
Accommodations: Hongzhu Hotel, Chengdu

* Bifengxia Panda Breeding Centre: is richly endowed with natural condition suitable for pandas. Some 63 captive pandas in Wolong Nature Reserve have been carried here for the quake.

* Shangli Ancient Town: is often mentioned as an enchanting Chinese painting in reality. Old bridges, ancient pagodas, big trees and memorial archways scatter in the town area.

Day 5 Tuesday 23-March-2010 (B,L,D)
Chengdu
In the morning, you will have a chance to be a volunteer in the panda breeding centre. You could clean the residence of pandas and make better living conditions for the lovely pandas by your own hands. You will surly earn a life-time happy memory with them.
Then you will have a tour to Shangli Ancient Town, a quiet old town perfect combining history, culture and tradition with natural beauty, before you are transferred back to Chengdu.

Day 6 Wednesday 24-March-2010 (B,L,D)
Chengdu
In the morning, you will have a visit to Wenshu Temple where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house enjoying a cup of traditional Chinese tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu and Jili Old Street.
In the afternoon, you will have half day free to do some shopping in Chengdu or explore the "Leisure City" by yourself.
Accommodations: Lhasa Grand Hotel, Chengdu

* Wenshu Temple: is Chengdu's oldest and largest Buddhist temple originally built in Tang Dynasty, at the back of which is a great place to relax yourself and do some people watching.

* Tea houses: thousands of teahouses dotted about Chengdu are very popular with locals, especially the elderly. Its distinct and unique atmosphere will let you get a good feel for Chengdu.

Jinli Old Street: is not only a wonderful reminder China’s past, but also a great place for people to fully appreciate Sichuan’s customs, and folk arts.

Day 7 Thursday 25-March-2010 (B)
Chengdu / Exit (Transfer via:International flight arranged by you )
You will be free until your local guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
