About Yunnan
Yunnan is without doubt a lovely province with great weather, great scenery and great people! You can visit the peaceful Lijiang Ancient City, admire the beautiful Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, walk around the amazing Stone Forest, explore the mighty Tiger Leap Gorge, or pay a visit to the Lugu Lake - a far far isolated place and get intoxicated by the mountains that float in the sea of clouds and mists.
Yunnan is a culture heaven with pretty minority villages, colorful minority costumes and smiling people. Your wanderings in Yunnan will probably make you encounter several minorities dressed in their traditional costumes, such as the Naxi in a matriarchal society, Bai with white dominated costumes and Yi famous for pretty embroidered cloths; each preserves strange and interesting traditions.
There are multiple fascinating journeys to make throughout Yunnan. You can do it in a leisure way by cycling. It is a paradise for backpackers. Traveling in Yunnan is a fascinating exploration of China's ethnic minorities and fabulous landscapes, a way to get quickly away from modern-day China and into a different China.

Stone Forest - Kunming
A stone resembles an elephant in the Stone Forest.
The Stone Forest culture, illustrated by the famous, long narrative poem, Ashima; along with the colorful embroidery of the Sani people; the ancient and mysterious "Torch Festival"; the cheerful songs and dances of the Yi people,and the Yi villages.

Most of the historical relics recovered in Yunnan were found in Dali. There live Bai people ( the word Bai means white ), and you can find them easily on the street of Dali. And Dali is famous with its mild climate, stunning mountain scenery , and the beauty of Er Hai.

Visit Lijiang Ancient Town. The design of folk houses, "Three element of a screen wall, a quadrangle with five courtyards", speaks for the talent and wisdom of Naxi folks.

Hutiao ( Tiger-Leaping) Gorge is internationally famous, far better known in the world than the province Yunan in which it is located. The Hutiao (Tiger-Leaping) Gorge is full of hidden danger. You don't know when more rocks will roll down.
