On this five-day journey, discover Guangxi's unique ethnic cultures. Visit Reed Flute Cave in Guilin, a stunning karst cave, to begin your exploration. Then proceed to Sanjiang. You'll discover the Dong village's distinctive architecture, such as the Wind and Rain Bridge and Drum Tower, and get a taste of everyday life there. Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Guilin
Welcome to the lovely city of Guilin! Meet your guide at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport or the railway station, and then take a private transfer to your downtown hotel. Check-in and unwind.

Day 2: Guilin - Sanjiang
Spend some time in the morning exploring the fantastic Reed Flute Cave. Then, travel to Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, where the minority Dong people boast of their colorful customs and incredible wooden architecture.
On arrival after about 2.5 hours, check into your hotel for a short break, and then take a quick tour of the town to see the Drum Tower, the Bird's Nest Theater, and the Wind and Rain Bridge.

Day 3: Sanjiang
Today you will visit an unknown Dong village that hasn't been overrun by tourists. Begin your exploration at the Drum Tower, where you may see some elderly grandmas playing cards or discussing trivia. Grandma Lu will invite you to her home, greet you with oil tea, and show you how to make wedding dresses in the most primitive ways. Her son, Kuan, will take you to see their new house, tea plantations, and rice paddy that also serves as the fish pound. You can also help out on the farm if you want. At the end of the tour, visit the primary village school and even provide a unique English class for the children.
The whole trip will take about four hours. Considering authentic Dong cuisine with exotic flavors may be too vagarious to your stomach, we will pack some food from the hotel for you as lunch.

Day 4: Sanjiang - Longsheng
Drive about 1.5 hours to Longsheng, a place to experience the unique customs of Zhuang and Yao minority groups. Settle into a boutique hotel and then take in the charming views of the terraced rice fields, another highlight of this area. Late in the afternoon, learn to cook Bamboo tube rice and enjoy your dinner with authentic local flavors.

Day 5: Longsheng - Guilin - Departure
This morning, you will hike about two hours from Ping'an Village to Guzhuang Village, which keeps its original features much better than Ping'an. There, you will see some century-old stilted folk houses. Afterward, drive 2.5 hours to the airport for your departure flight.
