Brief Introduction of Xi'an Xianyang Airport

Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is the largest airport in China's northwest. The code is XYI. Due to the Chinese western expansion, visitor and cargo flows are rapidly increasing. The airport was the hub for China Northwest Airlines until the company was merged into China Eastern Airlines in 2002. Currently, the airport connects to 79 other cities domestically and internationally, which is quite convenient for your Xi'an tours.

Location of Xi'an Airport

The airport is 47 km from Xi'an city center and 13 km from the town of Xianyang. Buses and taxis are available between the airport and Xi'an city center. 

Flight Information at Xi'an Xianyang Airport

Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is the major airport serving the city and the largest airport in the northwest region of China. It has opened more than 100 domestic flight routes and direct flight routes to many major cities in Asia, including Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Kyoto, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Pusan.

Ground Transportation at Xi'an Airport

When you arrive at Xi'an Xianyang Airport, you may have three options:

• Take a taxi.
• Take a shuttle bus, whose tickets are sold at the counters located in the arrival hall of the airport.
• Walk out of the arrival hall and take the small shuttle buses parked just outside.

Taxi tips:

Taxi (Jieda, Fukang, Pusang, Santana 2000, 3000, etc, displacement <= 1800cc), First Charge is RMB6 and RMB 1.5 per km after 2 km. During the night (23:00 to 06:00), the first charge is RMB7, and RMB 1.8 per km after 2 km.

Taxi (Hongqi, Zhonghua, Dongfangzhizi, Pashate, etc, displacement > 1800cc), First Charge is RMB 8, and RMB 2.4 per km after 2 km. During the night (23:00 to 06:00), the first charges are RMB 9, and RMB 2.7 per km after 2 km.

Airport Terminals

Currently, the airport has two terminal buildings, T1 and T2, covering an area of 100,000 square meters. T1 was just put into use in 2007 and operates domestic air routes. Available airlines at T1 include China Southern Airlines (CZ), Xiamen Airlines (MF), Sichuan Airlines (3U) and Chongqing Airlines (OQ).

T2 has the most domestic and international air routes departing and arriving at Xi'an. There are 9 airlines here: Air China (CA), Hainan Airlines (HU), Shenzhen Airlines (ZH), Shanghai Airlines (FM), Shandong Airlines (SC), East Star Airlines (8C), Lucky Air (8L), Kunpeng Air (VD) and Grand China Express (GS). It consists of the Departure Hall on the 2nd Floor, the Arrival Hall on the 1st Floor, the Interlayer with eight arrival gates as well as the Underground Floor.
