Boarding a Yangtze Cruise

      1. 1. How do I get onboard a cruiser?

        If you book a single cruise tour with us, our travel consultant will send you an e-confirmation letter with all the details you need to embark the cruiser.

        If you choose tour packages of more than the cruise, our private guide and driver will transfer you to the pier to embark. 

      1. 2. Do I need a ticket or a coupon to get on board?

        The answer is no. But your passport is needed to show at the front desk when embarking. Your tour guide will escort you to check in to the ship just as to the hotel.

        Once your confirmation of tours is done with us, your name will be recorded in the computer data of the ship.

      1. 3. When can I board the cruiser?

        It’s suggested you board the cruiser at around 7:00 pm after having dinner on land for the last shift of visitors usually leave at noon and the crew needs time to do the cleaning. Service will be suspended before the boarding time.

      1. 4. Is there a limit to how many pieces of luggage I can bring aboard?

        There is no quantity limit. There are storage places in your cabin to store your luggage.

      1. 5. How do I get my luggage onboard ship?

        On the pier, you will notice there are many porters helping visitors carry their luggage, each piece of which costs about RMB 20 (USD 3). Or you can help yourself with this.

      1. 6. How do I get my luggage to my cabin?

        Most cruisers offer bellboy service to those who wish to have someone help them with the luggage. The fee is normally around RMB 5 (USD 1) per piece. 

      1. 7. Is it necessary to book a guide to help me with boarding?

        As the ships are berthed at different piers due to the changes of water level, it can be more convenient for you to have a private tour guide to help you. We usually arrange tour guides at starting and ending points for clients whose itinerary covers other cities. If you only book the cruise with us, we suggest that you book a guide through us, in this way you will enjoy private transfer and your private guide can help you find your ship and get your luggage on board.

    1. 8. What to do next after boarding?

1) Find your cabin and the emergency exits (there is a map in your cabin).
2) Find out the life jacket in your cabin and know how to wear it properly.
3) After having your valuables and passport stored find your own assigned seat in the restaurant. You can then arrange your schedule of the onboard activities that interest you.
4) To find the locations of the services, you can dial the telephone numbers or turn to staffers if you have any questions.
5) If you need, you can exchange your currency into RMB on the ship.
6) Then it's time to enjoy the cruise. To take the best photos on your Yangtze cruise. 

  1. 9. Special note for re-boarding the ship after shore excursions. 
    There are several shore excursions during your Yangtze Cruise. Before disembarking for excursions, you will be given be a card which is the certificate for your re-boarding the ship. Losing the card, you will probably encounter with re-boarding bothering or delays. So please take care of this card.
