Yunnan Optional Tours: Yuanyang, Jianshui, Dongchuan

If you have more time to stay in Yunnan after touring the most popular tourist cities like Kunming, Lijiang, Dali, and Shangri-La, you can take optional tours to Yuanyang, Jianshui, and Dongchuan, which offer the chance to see stunning views of rice terraces and red land.

Yuanyang, located 326 km south of Kunming, is famous for its fantastic Rice Terraces and the interesting minorities' life. It has attracted numerous travelers and photographers with a stunning landscape. In 2013, Hani Rice Terraces located in Yuanyang Country has been listed as a World Heritage Site. Jianshui, 117km northeast of Yuanyang, is loaded with historic relics, such as the Confucius Temple,  Chaoyang Gateway Arch, and the Private Garden of the Zhu Family. Dongchuan, 140 km from Kunming city, is famous for the Laterite Fields, which shows unbelievably harmony between human and nature and rich colors. The three places are great for optional tours, especially when you have enough time and want to go off the beaten track.
