If you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy moderate, comfortable temperatures, autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) are the best times to visit. Also, if you're hiking, you'll have the chance to enjoy all of the flora that blossoms on either side of the riverbank.

During the summer months of July and August, the Li River can become very hot, and occasionally it will rise and even flood. During the winter months of December to February, you won't be able to enjoy the foliage, and it will be too cold to enjoy some activities, like bamboo rafting.
