China's winter, from December to February, the northern and southern China offer very different landscapes, and both are well worth seeing.

In the icy grip of northern China and high mountains, you can admire amazing ice sculptures in Harbin or explore the snow-capped Forbidden City in Beijing. The mountains are covered by snow in Huangshan and Zhangjiajie, and are still open for visiting.

Contrastingly, southern regions, such as Guangzhou and Hong Kong, enjoy milder winters, great for a city walk to explore the local culture.

Apart from the view, winter is the off-season in China. There will be less domestic travelers.
