The best time for a senior-friendly tour in China is during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is mild, crowds are manageable, and travel conditions are comfortable.

It is worth noting that it's best to avoid China's public holidays, such as Labor Day (May 1 to 5) and National Day Golden Week (October 1 to 7), as these periods see a surge in domestic tourists. Additionally, traveling during the summer vacation (July & August) is not highly recommended, as although the scenery is beautiful, attractions can be crowded with families and children on holiday trips.
