Day 1: Beijing Arrival
Welcome to Beijing, a city shaped by centuries of history and constant renewal. Upon arrival, you are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, take time to rest or step outside for a brief stroll, observing nearby streets, local eateries, and the pace of daily life as you settle into the city.

Day 2: Forbidden City & Central Axis Biking
The morning is spent inside the Forbidden City, moving through its grand courtyards, stone terraces, and ceremonial halls. Details such as carved marble ramps, bronze cauldrons, and painted roof beams reveal the structure and symbolism of imperial rule.
A short walk leads to Jingshan Park, where a steady climb up the hill opens up a clear, elevated view over the palace rooftops and the city's central alignment. After lunch, take a bicycle and follow part of Beijing's Central Axis. Riding past historic gates and along active streets, you experience the city at ground level, where imperial planning meets everyday movement.

Day 3: Great Wall Hike & Night Experience
Leave the city behind on a drive of about two hours to Jinshanling, a section of the Great Wall that feels noticeably less staged and more intact in its original form. Hiking along the wall, you navigate uneven steps, restored towers, and partially wild stretches, the landscape opening out across rolling hills.
By late afternoon, reach Gubei Water Town, where the layout is compact and easy to explore on foot. Narrow stone-paved alleys run alongside slow-moving canals, and the courtyard-style buildings house small shops, cafés, and local eateries, giving the area a lived-in, rather than purely decorative feel.
As evening falls, take a cable car up to Simatai Great Wall, where the illuminated wall winds across the dark ridgeline, offering a different perspective from the daytime hike.

Day 4: Summer Palace & Fragrant Hills Hiking
Return to the city and head for the Summer Palace, where lakeside paths lead past pavilions, arched bridges, and the long corridor decorated with painted scenes. Walking along Kunming Lake, you get a sense of how the imperial family once used this space for leisure.
Head to Fragrant Hills for a light hike. Follow shaded forest paths with gentle elevation and occasional viewpoints over western Beijing, before returning to the city in the late afternoon.
