Day 1: Forbidden City & Hutong Exploration
Begin the day at the Forbidden City, the vast imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Walk through its grand gates with your guide to explore sweeping courtyards and ceremonial halls, including the imposing Hall of Supreme Harmony, once the stage for the empire's most important rituals, before continuing into the quieter inner palaces.
From here, continue to Jingshan Park. A short, gentle climb leads to the hilltop pavilion, where one of Beijing's most breathtaking panoramic views awaits - the Forbidden City stretches out below in a sea of golden rooftops.
In the afternoon, step into the historic hutongs and experience a different rhythm of Beijing. Wander through narrow alleyways, visit a traditional courtyard residence, and gain insight into everyday life that has continued here for generations. A brief Peking Opera demonstration and a few carefully selected stops along the way add subtle cultural depth.

Day 2: Temple of Heaven & Mutianyu Great Wall
This morning, visit the magnificent Temple of Heaven, where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties once performed sacred ceremonies to pray for good harvests. As you stroll through the tranquil park, observe local residents gathering beneath ancient cypress trees for their morning routines - practicing tai chi, dancing, singing, and even writing calligraphy with water on the stone pavement. Along the way, take in architectural highlights such as the Circular Mound Altar, the Echo Wall, and the iconic Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests.
After lunch, continue to the scenic Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the most beautifully restored stretches of the Great Wall. A cable car ride brings you up to the ramparts, where a leisurely walk between watchtowers reveals sweeping views across the forested ridges of the Yan Mountains.
After the visit, return to Beijing. Depending on the schedule, transfer to the airport for departure or head back to the hotel.
