Day 1: Urumqi, Arrival
Upon arrival at Urumqi, a local guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: The Southern Pasture, Kazak Family Visit
Today, venture to the Southern Pasture, a scenic alpine meadowland nestled in the Nanshan Mountains outside Urumqi. Towering peaks encircle emerald pastures carpeted with wildflowers and dotted with yurts, grazing cattle, and sheep, providing stunning natural vistas.
Afterward, your guide will arrange a special homestay with a Kazak family living a traditional pastoral lifestyle. Gain insights into the unique culture of the Kazak people in Xinjiang.

Day 3: Urumqi - Turpan, Jiaohe Ruins & Uyghur Village & Karez Irrigation Site
The journey today takes you to Turpan, one of the lowest points on Earth. Your exploration of this historically significant area begins at the impressive Jiaohe Ruins, where you will delve into the well-preserved remnants of a Silk Road settlement, marveling at ancient homes and stupas that once graced its bustling streets.
Next, the Uyghur Ancient Village takes you back in time with restored mud-brick homes showcasing traditional crafts. Day 4: Ruined City, Islamic Minaret & Buddhist Caves
Spend another day exploring the cultural and natural heritage in Turpan.
Begins with a visit to the iconic Emin Minaret, a superb example of Uyghur Islamic architecture in China. Then, wander the partially restored Gaochang Ruins, imagining its former glory as a bustling oasis hub in the desert landscape. Enjoy a scenic drive past the Flaming Mountains, taking in their fiery red hues brighter against the cloudless sky.
Further along, the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves awaits you to appreciate its beautiful Buddhist frescoes adorning the chambers. Finally, at the Astana Graves, ancient underground tombs and murals will leave you awe-struck.

Day 5: Turpan - Urumqi - Kashgar
After a leisure morning, a scenic three-hour drive takes you past lush oases and desert vistas of the Turpan Depression to return to Urumqi, where a two-hour flight will take you to Kashgar.
Situated at the crossroads of Central Asia, Kashgar was a thriving hub along the ancient Silk Road. On arrival, be welcomed by your local guide and driver.

Day 6: Kashgar Old City, Mosques & Sunday Market
Start your morning by exploring the tomb of Apak Hoja, reading its beautifully preserved Islamic mausoleum architecture and intricate interior wall paintings. Then, head to the grand Id Kah Mosque, the largest mosque in China, to witness local prayers and admire the impressive architecture.

Day 7: Karakuri Lake & Baisha Lake
Drive across the vast alpine plains dotted with tiny villages this morning. Along the way, pause to admire Baisha Lake in its changing hues, where languid white sands lap at dazzling turquoise waters.
Continuing your journey, Karakuri Lake soon emerges in the distance, a placid sapphire gem nestled in the high-altitude wilderness.
