About This Trip
Spend four days in Lhasa, Tibet's spiritual heart, viewing its most iconic sights. Your first stop will be the spectacular Potala Palace, which towers atop the Red Mountain overlooking the city. Experience the sacred aura of the Temple of Jokhang. Take a stroll down Barkhor Street to observe Tibetan daily life. Then you'll see Norbulingka, the traditional summer palace of the succeeding Dalai Lamas. Besides, the tour also includes visits to Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery.

Day 1: Lhasa, Arrival
Welcome to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet! Upon arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, you will be greeted by a local guide and then transferred to your hotel in Lhasa city (1.5 hours' drive). After check-in, the rest of the day is yours to relax and get adapted to the high altitude.

Day 2: Lhasa, Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace
Start your journey with a visit to the Potala Palace, the symbol of Tibet. Built along the hill and winding up to the top, this magnificent building group in white, red, yellow, and black fully embodies the characteristics of Tibetan architecture. The colorful murals on the palace's walls along with other treasures will show you the scenes of plateau scenery, Tibetan history, and Buddhist stories. Later, step into the nearby Jokhang Temple, the holiest temple in Tibet, to feel the religious faith of Tibetan people. The tour will conclude at the flourishing Barkhor Street.

Day 3: Lhasa, Atmosphere of Religion
Continue your visit to Norbulingka, a typical Tibetan-style garden built in the 18th century. Covering an area of 360,000 square meters, it not only remains ancient Tibetan buildings and cultural relics but is also the home to numerous plants including the rare ones from the Himalayas. Afterward, proceed to the Drepung Monastery, the largest temple in Tibet setting on the side of a hill. Slow down your pace to soak in the atmosphere of quiet and peace, listen to the chant scripture, turn the prayer wheels, and appreciate colorful Thankas painted on the walls. Before back to the hotel, you will have a chance to see the debate session in the Sera Monastery.

Day 4: Lhasa, Departure
Enjoy a leisure morning to bid farewell to Lhasa. At the appointment time, your tour guide will send you to the airport for your departure flight.
