Tour route: Shanghai - Guilin - Xi'an - Beijing
Upon your arrival at the international airport of Shanghai, your personal guide will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel with a private van and driver. The rest of the day is free for you to refresh yourselves from the long-haul flying.
After breakfast, the guide will pick you up from the hotel lobby at the appointed time to start the city exploration from the Bund and the Former French Concession. While walking on the streets full of Western flavor, a picture of this cosmopolitan city in old times may come to your mind vividly.
Later, you will visit Yu Garden and stroll around Yuyuan Market, and then visit a silk workshop to see how the small cocoons are transformed into elegant silk. After that, ascend to the top of Shanghai World Financial Center to enjoy a bird-view of the skyline of the city.
In the evening, you can do some further exploration on your own or see the famous acrobatic show which will provide you with a visual feast.
After breakfast, firstly head to Zhujiajiao to visit the well-preserved ancient town and enjoy its unique water features by boat before going to the airport for flight to Guilin.
Upon your arrival in Guilin, the most scenic city in China, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel.
After breakfast, you will be driven to Zhujiang Pier (about 50 minutes) to embark on a Li River Cruise. As you're sailing downstream the crystal-clear river, you'll pass by amazing rock formations, peaks & pinnacles, dense vegetation, and local rural villages.
After the cruise, transfer to your hotel in Yangshuo first. Later, you'll take a special cooking class. The teacher will accompany you to a local market to purchase the ingredients first and then teach you to cook daily local cuisine. Try to DIY yours with your teacher's help, and you may enjoy your work as dinner.
After dinner, an optional open-air show of Impression Liu Sanjie is heartily recommended if you'd like more recreation tonight.
The highlight of today is the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors. You will have enough time to marvel at the grand array with thousands of lifelike clay soldiers, horses, and chariots in life-size. After that, you will visit Xi'an Art Ceramic’s factory, Muslim Street and the Great Mosque.
At night, enjoy the optional Tang Dynasty Show if you are interested in Chinese traditional music and clothes.
After breakfast, you will be escorted to visit the Ancient City Wall before heading to the airport for flight to Beijing. As a well-preserved ancient fortress, it is so thickest that you can cycle on the top of the city wall to get a better view of the city. On the way to the airport, have a stop to visit Hanyang Tomb, which is almost as spectacular as the Terracotta Warriors.
When arriving in Beijing, a local tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel.
Today, your tour guide will meet you at your hotel lobby at 8:30 am and escort you to the Tiananmen Square, and then you could start the Forbidden City Heritage Walk (4-5 hours) at 9:30 am. Besides the three main halls and palaces, your tour guide will show you more sites to help you get an in-depth knowledge of the royal family.
When getting out from the royal palace, you will head to Jingshan Park and climb to the top of the hill to enjoy the best panoramic view of the Forbidden City. After that, end today's tour with a visit to the traditional Hutong.
