Day 1: Arrival, Xining
Upon arrival in Xining, the eastern gateway of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, be welcomed by your guide and transferred to the hotel for check-in.
After freshen-up, start the Xining exploration from Dongguan Grand Mosque, a magnificent architecture integrating Chinese classical and Islamic characteristics. Another grand architecture you cannot miss is Ta'er Temple (also called Kumbum Monastery), an important religious activity center of the Gelugpa Sect of Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 2: Xining - Lhasa, by Qinghai-Tibet Train
Slowing down and better appreciating beautiful sceneries along the way is also a good choice during a journey. Enjoy some free time until you are transferred to the railway station in Xining for your overnight train to the "Sunshine City" Lhasa.
Get your eyes ready for majestic mountains, vast grasslands, and azure lakes when you're traveling on one of the world's highest and most fantastic railways.

Day 3: Lhasa
After about 20 hours, arrive in Lhasa, the heart city of mystical Tibet, be warmly greeted, and escorted to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is yours to adapt to the high altitude (3,650 meters) and have a well-deserved rest.

Day 4: Lhasa, Potala Palace & Jokhang Temple
Your enchanting Tibet tour begins at the Potala Palace, an architectural marvel that once served as the winter palace of the Dalai Lamas for about three hundred years. Marvel at this outstanding structure, which combines palaces and Tibetan Buddhist temples, and get to know its great administrative and religious significance.
At the city center lies another World Heritage site – the Jokhang Temple, considered the most sacred Buddhist monastery in Tibet. A few steps away is the flourishing Barkhor Street, where you can browse for your favorite souvenirs.

Day 5: Lhasa, Yamdrok Lake
Spend the day exploring Yamdrok Lake, less than 120 kilometers away from Lhasa. Besides enjoying breathtaking views of the lake from various viewpoints including Gangbala, you will have a unique perspective to admire the turquoise lake from Rituo Temple, a small one situated on a solitary island, and the snow-capped peaks in the distance. Return to your hotel in Lhasa downtown after this visual feast of natural splendors.- B L

Day 6: Lhasa, City Highlights Tour
Today provides you the chance to see Norbulingka, once the summer residence of the Dalai Lamas. Wander around the palaces and chapels in this typical Tibetan-style royal garden to find the smells of another era. Continue to marvel at the grand Drepung Monastery, the largest temple in Tibetan Buddhism which housed thousands of monks and believers.
