About This Trip
Spend 13 days discovering historical sites in China. Arrive in Shanghai, where you'll explore The Bund, Jade Buddha Temple, and Shanghai Museum. Before heading to Xi'an for the Terracotta Warriors, you'll enjoy a boat tour on the ancient Grand Canal in Suzhou. Pay a visit to Pingyao for the Wang Family Compound and Pingyao Ancient Town. Then, you'll see the magnificent Hanging Monastery and Yungang Grottoes in Datong. The itinerary ends in Beijing, where to explore the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and Changling Tomb.

Day 1: Shanghai, Arrival
Say Hello to China, an ancient and mysterious oriental land. Upon your arrival at Shanghai airport, your local guide will greet and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax and recover from jet lag.

Day 2: Shanghai, City Highlights Tour
Today begins from a visit to the Shanghai Museum. It offers an art history tour of the Middle Kingdom dating back to the 20 century BC. Continue to walk along the Bund, which is located in the most prosperous area in Shanghai and the nearby Nanjing Road.
Have a shop at a silk workshop to see how silk is made. Later, visit the Jade Buddha Temple which is famous for a transcendent Buddha crafted from pure jade. The last stop of today is to get a bird-view of Shanghai on the Shanghai World Financial Center.
Optional: The fabulous acrobatics show is highly recommended for tonight which can bring you a memorable night.

Day 3: Shanghai - Suzhou, Chinese Garden & Grand Canal
After breakfast, you will be met and transferred to the railway station for the high-speed train to Suzhou (about 0.5h, no guide service on the train). Upon your arrival, you will be met and transferred to have a city tour in Suzhou.
Firstly, you will visit the quiet Lingering Garden and then visit the No.1 Silk Factory to learn how pure silk products are made from a small cocoon. Later, you will take the rickshaw tour in the old town and enjoy Suzhou canal tour with the hand-rowed boat (about 40 minutes).
Explore the Pingjiang Old Street before you are driven back to Suzhou railway station for the high-speed train back to Shanghai. Upon your arrival at Shanghai railway station, your guide will pick you up and escort you to the hotel.

Day 4: Shanghai - Xi'an, Shadow Puppet Show
You will be free on this day until your personal guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to next destination. Upon your arrival in Xi'an, drive to the hotel. After check-in, pay a visit to the Muslim Street to enjoy all kinds of unique local delicacies, snacks and souvenirs there. Proceed to visit the Great Mosque - one of the four grand Islamic mosques in China, and then head to the Gao's Courtyard to watch a shadow puppet show there.

Day 5: Xi'an, Terracotta Warriors
Today's tour begins with Terracotta Warriors. You will inspect the incredible 8,000 life-size terra soldiers and horses and listen to the legends of their master, Emperor Qin Shihuang, who united China for the first time. Later, visit the jade gallery to view how these amazing statues were created 2,200 years ago.
After lunch, tour the Ancient City Wall to see the world's largest city wall and spend time at the iconic ancient Bell Tower.
Optional: If you're interested in, the famous Tang Dynasty Show is a good option as tonight's entertainment tonight.

Day 6: Xi'an - Pingyao, Wang Family Compound
On this day, you will be free until your guide escorts you to the train station for your train to Pingyao. Upon your arrival, your guide and driver will meet you and escort you to the hotel first and then visit Wang Family Compound.

Day 7: Pingyao, Pingyao Ancient Town
Firstly, head for the magnificent and the ancient Shuanglin Temple. Later, take a walk atop the old City Wall for a panoramic view of the history-enriched Pingyao Ancient Town, followed by a visit to the Rishengchang Exchange Shop, the first bank established in China. At last, stroll along the Ming and Qing Street to be immersed with the bustle bargaining phenomenon which lasts for centuries.

Day 8: Pingyao - Datong, Hanging Monastery
After breakfast, be driven to Datong. On the way, you will visit the Hanging Monastery - a 1,400 years old wooden temple built on stilts against the cliff. Continue to the Ancient Town of Guangwu to see the military relics and the ruins of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty (around 600 years ago). Upon arrival in Datong, be transferred to the hotel for check-in and have own free time.

Day 9: Datong, Huayan Temple & Yungang Grottoes
In the morning, you'll visit the city highlights: the grand Nine Dragon Screen and Huayan Temple which houses unique Buddha statues and paintings of Liao and Jin Dynasties. Later, drive out of the city to visit Yungang Grottoes, a World Heritage Site known for its amazing huge and vivid Buddha statues. After that, get back to your hotel and rest of the day is yours to relax.

Day 10: Datong - Beijing, Hutong Tour
Today, fly to Beijing and continue your tour in the capital of China. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to the hotel. After a short rest, sett off to explore the hutongs to trace back the history of ancient Beijing, including the Yandai Xie Street section.

Day 11: Beijing, City Highlights Tour
Today, you'll first visit Tiananmen Square, the largest plaza on the earth. Pass through the Tiananmen Gate to enter the splendid Forbidden City, China's No.1 palace complex famous for its grand royal buildings, exquisite ornaments and priceless treasures.
In the afternoon, explore the Summer Palace and take in the nice view of this royal garden, followed by a short visit to the Longing Pearl Store.
Optional: Tonight's option can be the thrilling Chinese Kung Fu Show which brings you the charm of this Chinese martial art.

Day 12: Beijing, Great Wall & Changling Tomb
No Beijing tour is complete without a visit to the Great Wall (Mutianyu section, round trip cable car included). As a popular symbol of China, the breathtaking Walls was built on the mountain ridges brick, by brick only resorting to manpower 2,000 years ago. Stretching about 4,000 miles across northern China, it is entitled the Eighth Wonder of the World, a must-visit of China.
After the Great Wall tour, you will visit the Changling Tomb and then get back to your hotel.
