Day 2: Guilin - Longsheng (Long Hair Yao Women & Sunset over Rice Terraces)
Travel to Longsheng to visit a traditional Yao ethnic village, where you'll have the rare opportunity to photograph long-haired women - dressed in their vibrant embroidered clothing, they skillfully wrap their jet-black hair into elaborate coils atop their heads, symbols of beauty and heritage. As you stroll through the wooden stilt houses and stone-paved paths, immerse yourself in the rhythms of village life.
In the afternoon, journey to the awe-inspiring Longji Rice Terraces, where cascading layers of green (or golden, depending on the season) ripple down the mountainside like a giant dragon's spine. As the sun begins to set, position yourself at the iconic Jiulong Wuhu (Nine Dragons and Five Tigers) viewpoint, where the terraced ridges glow in soft, golden light - creating a dreamlike scene perfect for landscape photography.

Rise early to capture the magical sunrise at the Seven Stars with the Moon viewpoint, where morning mist drifts between terraced ridges, and the soft golden light gradually reveals the layered contours of the rice fields.
After breakfast, hike about 1.5 hours to another Zhuang ethnic village, passing through minority settlements, ancient flagstone paths, lush terraced fields, and centuries-old trees. There, you'll have the chance to photograph century-old wooden stilt houses, timeworn cobblestone lanes, and glimpses of authentic rural life that remain untouched by modern development.
Later, travel to the tranquil town of Xingping and set up your camera for sunset atop Cuiping Mountain (also known as Cuiping Back Hill). From this vantage point, you'll witness a breathtaking panorama of layered karst peaks, interlaced rivers, and patchwork fields bathed in warm evening light.
