Day 1: Arrival, Guilin - Longsheng
Upon your arrival, you'll be greeted by your guide and transferred (about 2 hours) to Longji Rice Terraces area in Longsheng. Take a rest before your 30-minute walk up to Ping'an Village, a major dwelling for the local Zhuang ethnic minority. Soak in the serene atmosphere as you settle in for the night.

Day 2: Longji Rice Terraces Around Ping'an Village
Continue your exploration in the terraced terrain this morning. Early risers can hike to witness a breathtaking sunrise. Later, trek through the rolling terrace fields of Ping'an Village, where you'll appreciate the vast landscape and encounter Yao women in traditional clothes with coiled, meter-long black hair. Your guide will explain the ethnic traditions and assist in conversations with local people if you wish. In the afternoon, descend for 30 minutes and drive back to Guilin downtown (about 2.5 hours).

Day 3: Karst Hill, Cave and Ancient Town
Explore the essence of Guilin today. Visit Elephant Trunk Hill, the city's most iconic natural wonder, and even climb up for a panorama of the city. Afterward, head to Reed Flute Cave, a marvelous karst cave filled with stalagmites and stalactites in various shapes.
In the afternoon, explore the lesser-known Daxu Ancient Town, where you can immerse yourself in its slow-paced lifestyle and discover remnants of its heyday as a bustling trading port from the exquisite architecture. Your guide will share with you the history of the town.

Day 4: Li River Cruise From Guilin to Yangshuo
Take a leisurely boat ride (about 4-5 hours) down the Li River to Yangshuo in the morning. Along your cruise, enjoy the refreshing breeze and the rolling mountains, famously named after their quirky shapes. Boost your imagination as you encounter sites like Nine Horse Mural Hill, trying to identify as many figures as possible!

Day 5: Yangshuo - Congjiang - Zhaoxing
Kick off an exciting day by ascending Xianggong Mountain for a panoramic view of the meandering Li River at sunrise. After that, board the bullet train to Congjiang (about 1 hour) with your Guilin guide. Upon arrival, transfer to the nearby Zhaoxing Dong Village to explore centuries of Dong heritage. Over the next few days, you'll take in the local cultures by visiting several Dong villages in the vicinity, known for their unique drum towers, Wind and Rain Bridges, and the traditional folk song Dage. Engage with friendly villagers and gain insight into their cultural traditions.

Day 6: Zhaoxing, Local Minority Villages
Your rural exploration begins at Basha Miao Village, the last home of China's gunman tribe. Here, guns are used not only for hunting but also to welcome. Be amazed to see locals using sickles for haircuts.
Continue to the mysterious Zhanli Dong Village, known for its distinctive family planning customs to gender equality. Next, visit Xiaohuang Dong Village, the cradle of ancient Dage choral tradition. You may meet locals who sing soundly while farming in the fields.
Conclude your day at the centuries-old Huanggang Dong Village, where you can explore drum towers and enjoy traditional music played on the lusheng, a reed instrument that can be meters high.

Day 7: Zhaoxing - Congjiang - Guiyang
Visit Tang'an Dong Village and enjoy a 2 to 3-hour hike through the spectacular terrace fields, often referred to as the "Great Wall of Terrace Fields" for their long history and intricate design. After descending, travel to Congjiang for a high-speed train ride (approximately 2 hours) to Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province. Upon arrival, your local tour guide will escort you on a private transfer to your hotel.

Day 8: Guiyang - Anshun - Guiyang, Ancient Towns
Your day starts at Tianlong Tunbao, an ancient town inhabited by the Han people established during the Ming Dynasty. The town's fortifications and traditional attires, still woven and dyed today, are testaments to its 600-year history and connection to the Ming Empire. You might also catch a local opera performance featuring actors' elaborate masks.
Later, drive 1.5 hours to Qingyan, a well-preserved ancient settlement showcasing Ming Dynasty architecture. Wander through narrow stone-paved streets, past traditional courtyards, temples, and ancient city walls. Conclude your day by returning to Guiyang in the evening for a well-deserved rest.
