Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrival in Urumqi

  Welcome to Urumqi, the main gateway to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region! After you touch down, a comfortable private transfer will take you to the downtown area to check into your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax or walk out to do some exploration on your own.

• Day 2: Urumqi - Karamay, Dushanzi Grand Canyon

  Proceed to Karamay today by about a 6-hour drive with a stopover at Dushanzi Grand Canyon on the way. With a height of 200 meters and a bottom width of 400 meters, the canyon seems cut by a knife. The gullies on the crags formed by the alluviation of snow-waters and rain-waters will deepen your impression of this canyon. After arrival in Karamay City, settle in your hotel and have a rest.

• Day 3: Karamay - Burqin County, Wind City of Wuerhe

  This morning you will set out to the Wind City of Wuerhe, more popularly known as the Ghost City and ranked first in the Three Most Beautiful Yadans in China. In it, you will be shocked by the bizarre rocks with ghostly howls.

  Later on, head to Burqin County for the night. After a short break in your hotel, walk out to explore the famous Hedi Night Market. Closing to the Burqin River and offering all kinds of tasty food, this market is one of the favorite places to relax after the sunset.

• Day 4: Burqin County - Hemu Village, Kanas Lake

  Hugged by the lush forest and vast mountain grassland, Kanas Lake is a scenic win hidden in the valley of the Altai Mountains. The peaceful environment, the colors of the lake, and the legend of the Kanas Lake Monster give this fairyland an air of mystery. Before reaching the lake, you will pass through three scenic spots along the Kanas River: Wolong Bay, Moon Bay, and Goddess Bay. This evening you will overnight at Hemu Village.

• Day 5: Hemu Village - Burqin County

  Hemu Village is a small village inhabited by ethnic people of Kazakhs and Tuvars, still living on grazing and hunting. Walking to a top platform in the early morning, you will have a chance to catch a stunning sunrise view over the countryside. You may see smoke curling up from quaint wooden houses, herds of cattle and sheep scattered over the vast grassland, the clean stream warbles over its rocky bed, and surrounding birch forests stretch to the mountains. Afterward, return to Burqin County for the night with a stopover at Rainbow Beach, another Yadan landform beside the Irtysh River.

• Day 6: Burqin County - Urumqi

  Today will be a long journey, about 8.5 hours from Burqin County to Urumqi by drive. But don't worry, the breathtaking scenery along the way is very spectacular and you can stop anywhere to break and shoot some landscape photographs. Upon arrival in Urumqi, settle in your hotel and rest.

  Time to say goodbye. After a leisurely morning, your tour guide will escort you to the airport for your departure flight.
