About This Trip
In 7 days, you'll leave the energetic Shanghai behind for quieter corners of eastern China. Step first into Zhujiajiao, where canals replace highways and old stone bridges set a slower rhythm. From there, the landscape begins to open up. Wangxian Valley cuts deep into the mountains, with cliffs, waterfalls, and suspended walkways that make you feel the scale of nature. The journey then rises to Huangshan, its granite peaks wrapped in mist and cloud. The trip ends in Hongcun, a quiet village of white walls and dark tiles, making you feel like walking into an old ink painting.

Day 1: Arrival in Shanghai
Upon landing in Shanghai, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is left open for rest and recovery after international travel, allowing time to ease into the pace of the city at a comfortable rhythm.

Day 2: Shanghai Classic Sights
Start the morning along the Bund, looking from old colonial buildings to Pudong's futuristic skyline, a view that says "Shanghai". Then you step into a different century at Yuyuan Garden, a well-preserved traditional garden in the old city, featuring ornate pavilions, sculpted rockeries, and tranquil ponds. The adjacent Yu Market is noisy, crowded, and full of street food and small shops.
The afternoon slows down while you wander in the Former French Concession, with shaded boulevards, sidewalk cafés, boutique stores, and historic residences reflecting Shanghai's international legacy. The day concludes at Jade Buddha Temple, an active Buddhist monastery known for its serene atmosphere and finely carved white jade Buddha statues.

Day 3: Zhujiajiao Ancient Water Town
A short journey from Shanghai leads to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, one of the best-preserved canal towns in the Yangtze Delta. Stone bridges, whitewashed houses, and narrow waterways showcase centuries of traditional water-town culture in southern China. A boat ride through the canal waterway provides a peaceful perspective of local life along the water. After the visit, return to Shanghai, with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 4: Shanghai to Shangrao, Wangxian Valley
Board a high-speed train from Shanghai to Shangrao, a journey of approximately 3 hours, the gateway to the scenic landscapes of Jiangxi Province. On arrival, enjoy a comfortable private car transfer to Wangxian Valley, a dramatic landscape natural setting of sheer cliffs, forested gorges, and cascading waterfalls. As evening falls, illuminated walkways and hillside lights transform the valley into a striking mountain scene.

Day 5: Wangxian Valley to Huangshan
Travel by road to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mount Huangshan (about 5 hours), one of China's most celebrated natural landmarks. Renowned for granite peaks, ancient pine trees, and sweeping sea-of-cloud views, the mountain delivers some of the country's most iconic scenery. A cable car ascent brings you into the upper mountain area. From there, you'll visit the North Sea Scenic Area, a classic summit zone known for its striking rock formations, forested ridgelines, and ever-changing mountain mist. You'll spend the night in the upper mountain area, with panoramic views as daylight fades over the ridgelines.

Day 6: Mount Huangshan & Hongcun Village
If the weather permits, wake up early to catch the sunrise before exploring the West Sea Scenic Area, home to some of Mount Huangshan's most dramatic landscapes, with deep valleys, dramatic stone pillars, and wide mountain vistas.
After descending by cable car, continue to Hongcun Village, a UNESCO-listed settlement with a moon-shaped pond at its center. Traditional Hui-style residences and quiet water lanes shape a timeless rural landscape in southern Anhui.
