Day 2: Wuhan - Yichang
The large set of chime bells unearthed from the tomb of Marquis Yi of the Zeng State in the Warring State period (475BC-221BC) is the most precious collection at the Hubei Provincial Museum. With 65 bells, the largest one at 152 cm high and 203kg weight, the ancient percussion instrument can play multiple musical scales, including C major. It's impossible to see it anywhere beyond Wuhan for having been forbidden for abroad exhibition. Now that you are here, it is no reason to miss it.
After marveling at the Chime Bells and other treasures in the museum, take a relaxing walk in the East Lake Park and cruise on the scenic lake to observe the urban landscape from different perspectives before taking a high-speed train to Yichang. On arrival, be welcomed by a local guide and driver.

Day 3: Yichang
Due to the construction of the Three Gorges Dam - the world's largest hydroelectric power station, the original landscape of the Three Gorges has also changed a lot, and now only the section between the Three Gorges Dam and the Gezhouba Dam maintains its innate feature. Today's cruise from Yichang will take you over the Gezhouba Dam and enjoy the natural beauty of Xiling Gorge.
After the cruise and lunch, you will also visit the Three Gorges Dam Tourist Area to catch panoramic views of the dam and the Yangtze River for a comprehensive understanding of the dam and its construction. Late in the afternoon, take a bus back to Yichang and return to your hotel.

Day 4: Yichang - Departure
Traditional stilted houses dotting the mountains and river, the long-lost awning boats floating quietly on the water, girls by the stream washing clothes with a mallet, and the fishermen casting nets - that is the picture you will see in the Three Gorges Family. Today, you will have enough time to explore the scenic spot combining natural beauty and cultural landscape to see traditional lifestyles along the Yangtze River come to life. Late in the day, get to the airport or railway station for the onward journey to your next destination.
