Day 1: Ni Hao, Shanghai
Welcome to Shanghai, the most modern metropolis of China! You'll meet your private tour guide and driver outside the arrival hall and then be escorted to your hotel near downtown. Take a good rest.

Day 2: The Bund, Old Shanghai City & Local Snacks
The first day of your Shanghai adventure begins at the Bund, where everyone gets their best Shanghai skyline shot. Then head to Yu Garden, you don't need a history lesson to appreciate it. The clever layout, zigzag bridges, and hidden corners do all the talking. Before you leave, stop by a silk workshop to see how delicate silk is made from tiny cocoons.
Later, slow down and enjoy a relaxed walk from Fuxing Park's scenes of daily life to Bugaoli to get a feel for old Shanghai. You'll pause at a local market and grab traditional snacks on the go, no sit-down meal required, just let everyone pick what looks good.
End today at Shanghai Museum East, it has hands-on zones where teens can explore at their own pace without feeling like they're back in textbook, and you can save your energy for the exhibits that actually attract you.

Day 3: Zhujiajiao Water Town & Fly to Zhangjiajie
Just an hour's drive from Shanghai, Zhujiajiao presents you old stone bridges, white-walled houses, and canals that have been here for centuries. Hopping on a wooden boat is the best way to see the town going about its day, you'll glide past homes where people still live along the water, hanging laundry and tending small gardens.
Enjoy some family leisure time before heading to the airport for an evening flight to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will be waiting to take you straight to your hotel.

Day 4: Zhangjiajie National Park
It's time to enjoy the dramatic landscapes that inspired the floating mountains in the movie of Avatar.
You'll start with the Bailong Elevator, a glass lift built straight into the cliff face. Kids will love it as it shoots up hundreds of meters in seconds. At the top, you're in Yuanjiajie, with sandstone pillars stretching out as far as you can see. In the area, your guide will handle all the shuttle buses between spots, you can just follow along and focus on the views and the kids. Next is Mount Tianzi, home to some of the park's most iconic scenery. After taking it in, you'll ride the cable car down.
Afterward, take a small train for a gentle ride through the valley of " Ten Mile Gallery", a chance to rest your legs while still soaking up the landscape.

Day 5: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon
Start the day early with a visit to Huanglong Cave, a massive underground limestone cave where you'll walk through chambers filled with strange rock formations, underground rivers, and a hanging waterfall.
Later, head to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. You'll begin with a 5km hike through the forest, where the tree cover is so dense and it feels like you're walking through a green tunnel. The following is the highlight of today, walk across the famous glass bridge suspended high above the canyon. It's a moment no one in the family forgets, teens will love testing their nerves here, and parents will love the photo opportunities.

Day 6: Tianmen Mountain & Fly to Chengdu
You'll start with the world's longest mountain ropeway - a cable car ride that climbs from the edge of the city and ends among clouds. It's long enough to make you wonder when it will end, and the views only get better the higher you go. Once at the top, there's a glass walkway clinging to the cliff face. Step out and look down, you'll suddenly understand why some people hug the rock wall.
In the afternoon, fly to Chengdu, a city known for beloved pandas, hot pot, and a pace that feels noticeably slower than Shanghai or Beijing.

Day 7: Panda Volunteer Program
Today, step behind the scenes at Shenshuping Panda Base for a hands-on panda volunteer experience. You'll have the chance to observe the pandas up close as they eat and play, while learning about ongoing conservation efforts to protect the species. Working alongside the staff, you'll help prepare food, cut bamboo, and learn about the daily routines. It's the highlight of the trip for the whole family, and a rewarding experience that offers a deeper connection to China's most famous animal.
At the end of the program, you'll receive a panda care certificate as a special souvenir before returning to Chengdu.

Day 8: Chengdu Slow Life & Journey to Xi'an
Start your day like a true Chengdu local at Wangjiang Park, where bamboo groves whisper in the wind and the scent of osmanthus flowers lingers in the air. Climb the park's iconic Chongli Pavilion, from the top, enjoy sweeping views of the Jinjiang River winding through the city. Enjoy a cup of Mengding tea at the pavilion's teahouse while watch the elderly practice water calligraphy on the stone paths below, their brushstrokes disappearing as quickly as they're made.
Then, board the high-speed train to Xi'an (about 4 hours), your Xi'an guide will meet you at the station and take you to your hotel to rest.

Day 9: Terracotta Warriors & Xi'an's Flavors
Start the morning with the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors. You can spend around 2.5 hours there to marvel at the grand array with thousands of lifelike clay soldiers, horses and chariots. Standing in front of them, you start to realize why this place is world-famous.
Drive about one hour back to the city and stroll down the bustling Muslim Quarter, it's a perfect change of pace after a morning of ancient history. The vibrant energy of local markets and street food here awaits. You can share a bowl of the famous biangbiang noodles or grab a roujiamo (Chinese burger), and don't miss out on freshly squeezed pomegranate juice or a cup of traditional old yogurt.

Day 10: Xi'an City Wall & High-Speed Train to Beijing
One of the most relaxing ways to spend the morning, without rushing from one sight to another, is the cycling ride along the wide top of Xi'an's Ancient City Wall. No crowds, no long lines, just enjoy the open space and a different view of the city.
A 6-hour high-speed train will take you to Beijing later, where your local tour guide and driver will welcome you.

Day 11: Forbidden City & Local Beijing Life
The Forbidden City is the highlight of today. Once the residence of 24 Chinese emperors, every brick and tile here holds stories from the past. But rather than focusing on history, teens tend to love fun facts - and an experienced guide will bring the ancient palace to life with engaging, interactive storytelling that both adults and kids can enjoy.
Next, visit the Temple of Heaven, a sacred site where emperors once prayed for good harvests - a true masterpiece of Chinese aesthetics. For teens, it's also a fascinating "ancient technology" experience. The temple's design is essentially a giant math puzzle, filled with numerical patterns and architectural secrets, sure to spark their curiosity. Finally, experience authentic local life in Beijing's hutongs. It's a world apart from the grand imperial buildings, brimming with the everyday character of old Beijingers.

Day 12: Jinshanling Great Wall Hike
Instead of joining the crowds at the most visited sections, you'll drive about 2.5 hours to Jinshanling Great Wall. It retains more of original wild charm, making it a great spot for photography and hiking.
You'll hike along the ancient stone pathway, climb watchtowers, and take in sweeping views of the mountains. Take your time and pause for memorable family photos.
Return to Beijing in the late afternoon after a day spent exploring one of China's greatest achievements.

Day 13: Explore Beijing On Your Own
Enjoy the day exactly the way you want it as it's the last day of your China trip. You may want to wander the streets near your hotel, enjoy a cup of coffee, or explore popular market like Xiushui street. If you're feeling more adventurous, cycle through the alleys hidden behind the bustling streets.
