Terms and Conditions
The Terms and Conditions below govern the relationship between you, the passenger, and us, China Odyssey Tours. By booking a trip, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, please be sure to carefully read these terms and make sure you understand and accept these Terms and Conditions.
1) Upon receiving your booking request, one of China Odyssey Tours experienced travel consultants will start to assist you in building a pleasant travel plan according to your special requirements and interests within 23.5 hours.
2) Upon the receipt of a deposit (30 percent of the total touring price) from you, we'll secure your reservation and process your final booking immediately.(Our average deposit amount is 30 percent of the total price, but this amount is subject to change. It could possibly be higher, or lower depending on group size, and itinerary. Your personal travel consultant will adjust the amount accordingly.)
3) It is highly recommended that your tour reservation be made 30 days prior to the actual traveling date. A full payment is required 20 days prior to your actual arrival date.
4) When your booking is confirmed, we will send you a confirmation letter informing you with the proposed flights, hotels, and tours in details. If any conditions should change after the confirmation, China Odyssey Tours reserves the right to make changes and provide you with the similar alternative options.

We accept three ways of payment:

*Important note about the exchange rate:
1. Reference exchange rate: please refer to BOC EXCHANGE RATE.
2. The quote we provide is in Chinese currency-RMB, the equivalent quote in USD is based on current exchange rate between the RMB and the USD. The quote we provide in USD is subject to slight change due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate, though our quote in RMB will remain the same.
We would feel sorry if you decided to cancel your trip to China, however we realize that the majority do so out of necessity.
If you must cancel your trip, please submit your cancellation in written form. Cancellation refunds will be calculated as of the date we receive your written cancellation.
All payments for travel services not provided to the passenger shall be refunded in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and in accordance with China Odyssey 's cancellation policy:
1) Cancellations made no less than 30 days prior to departure will qualify for a full refund less a $100 administration fee per person.
2) Cancellations made between 30 to 15 days prior to departure will qualify for a full refund less a $200 administration fee per person.
3) Cancellations made between 14 to 7 days prior to departure will qualify for a 70% refund.
4) Cancellations made between 6 to 0 days prior to departure will qualify for a 50% refund.
5) Please note: additional cancellation fees, if applicable, imposed by the service providers other than China Odyssey Tours (may include but not limit to airlines, hotels, railway companies, etc.) will be deducted in the money refunded.
Traveler substitutions are considered reservation cancellations and are subject to the above cancellation fees.
After the trip has commenced, we are unable to refund any amount for unused services (may include but not limit to airlines, hotels, railway companies,ship companies etc.) due to your early departure, late arrival, or missed days on tours.

Before your booking is confirmed, alterations to your itinerary are happily processed free of charge, because providing the best tour possible for you is our goal. However, alterations after you have received your booking confirmation letter will incur a fee of 25.00 USD per request, and changes to departure date or destination may incur cancellation fees. All changes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
China Odyssey Tours reserves the right to modify the itinerary of your tour if air schedule or surface transportation changes, and/or events beyond its control make such alterations necessary. In this event, any of the increase or reduction of the tour cost will be calculated and charged/ refunded accordingly. If it is you who request the changes to your tour, then you will be required to pay any additional cost in advance.
A passport with minimum of 6 months validity is required for passengers traveling to all countries in our program. Responsibility for documentation accuracy, passport validity and dispatch of documents rests with the client. China Odyssey Tours accepts no responsibility for any failure in this respect. Clients must clearly provide their last names and first names on passport; otherwise we have no responsibility for any delays, transport failure. And your insurance documents are also necessary, or we cannot regrettably provide services for you.
According to the regulations of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, the free baggage allowance within China is 20kg (44pounds) for the economy class, 30kg (66pounds) for the business class, and 40kg (88pounds) for the first class, plus limited carry-on luggage. Excess baggage charges are the sole responsibility of yours. Regulations within China specify that all suitcases must have a locking device attached. Failure to follow this regulation may result in refusal by airport staff to load suitcases onto the aircraft.

You must advise us in writing, at or prior to booking, of any physical, emotional or mental condition which may require professional attention during the trip or may require the use of special equipment. If you require a wheelchair, you must provide your own small, collapsible wheelchair. Certain features, and certain trips, are not wheelchair-accessible. We cannot guarantee any wheelchair assistance or accessibility in international destinations. China Odyssey Tours reserves the right to decline any trip participant whose condition, in our opinion, may affect the health, safety or enjoyment of other participants.
We cannot accommodate women past their sixth month of pregnancy.
You should take into account all international travel risks and familiarize yourselves with health requirements applicable to the areas you intend to visit. You are solely responsible for checking the safety and security conditions, vaccination, and other health requirements of governments in countries you are going to visit or transit.
Travelers to Tibet are required to provide a doctor's certificate stating that the he/she is fit to travel and his/her blood pressure and heart condition are normal in case that the very high altitude have the possible effects on certain people.
It is the clients’ responsibility to avail them with information regarding health requirements in the intended country of entry. You should speak with your local GP or department of health about any health recommendations. Clients are required to familiarize themselves with any health requirements specific to the countries being visited.
China Odyssey Tours will carry out tour services after making sure you are properly insured. It is required that you should purchase proper travel insurances before leaving your home country to cover a wide range of unexpected loss and damages.
The responsibility of China Odyssey Tours and its affiliated companies is strictly limited. China Odyssey Tours shall not be responsible for any wrongful or negligent acts, omissions, or failure to act of any suppliers such as those of surface, air, and water transportation, sightseeing excursions, cruise/hotel accommodations, or of any third party not directly owned or operated by China Odyssey Tours. By utilizing the travel services of the Suppliers, you agree that you will look to such Suppliers for any accident, injury, property damage, or personal loss to you or to those traveling with you, and that neither China Odyssey Tours nor any representative of China Odyssey Tours shall be liable.
Without limitation, China Odyssey Tours is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to person or property, death, delay, or inconvenience in connection with the provision of, or failure to provide, any goods or services occasioned by or resulting from--but not limited to--acts of God or force majeure, acts of war or civil unrest, insurrection or revolt, strikes or other labor activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, overbooking or downgrading of accommodations, mechanical or other failure of airplanes of other means of transportation or for the failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time, sanitation problems, lack of medical care, or for any other cause beyond the direct control of China Odyssey Tours. Nor is China Odyssey Tours responsible for the stolen and lost of your valuable items due to your own negligence.
China Odyssey Tours is not responsible for your failure to comply with customs regulations.
China Odyssey Tours reserves the right to substitute hotels of similar
quality at any time or to make changes in itinerary of similar quality,
flights, or cruise ships, or to cancel the tour prior to departure.
If China Odyssey Tours has cancelled any tour prior to the commencement
of the tour, China Odyssey Tours is liable for a full refund of the
money received by China Odyssey Tours. If you purchase an airline ticket
separately, ensure that your agent explains the conditions under which
the ticket is issued as China Odyssey Tours is not responsible for
such airline ticket cancellation fees.
China Odyssey Tours reserves the right to correct promotional or pricing errors at any time, or to increase the program price in the event of cost increases due to changes in airfares, cruise fares, currency fluctuations, park fee increases, taxes, or fuel surcharges.
Please understand that not all museums and attractions are open every day of the year. China Odyssey Tours reserves the right to vary the sequence of sightseeing and/or to re-route the order of cities if that will enable you to visit all listed excursions. In either case, the itinerary content will be maintained to the extent possible and there are no refunds for any unused or unavailable excursions.
Many of China Odyssey Tours tour packages include activities that require care attention. Such activities include boarding and going ashore from boats, climbing hills and entering and exiting tombs and caves etc. You will receive help and advice from our representatives but all activities are undertaken at your own risk. China Odyssey Tours, its employees and agents cannot be responsible for any action or event that occurs after its employees and agents have exercised their duty and taken the necessary care.
Compensation payments do not apply where performance of our contract with you is prevented by risk or threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, technical problems to transport, closure or congestion of airport or ports, cancellation or change of scheduled airlines and similar events beyond our control.
China Odyssey Tours (herewith called the Company) acts as a coordinator for all persons taking theses tours, in the making of all arrangements for transportation, sightseeing and hotel accommodation. The Company does not own, manage, control or operate any transportation vehicle, any hotel, restaurant or any other supplier of services. All soupcons receipts and tickets are issued subject to the terms and conditions specified by the supplier and all services are subject to the laws as an agent for the owners contractors and suppliers of transportation and/or other related travel services provided and assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage to baggage or property, no responsibility for any injury, illness or death, no responsibility for any damages or claims howsoever caused arising directly or indirectly from accidents, loss, or damage to person or property, no responsibility for delays, transport failures, strikes, wars and uprisings or acts of God, etc over which the Company has no control.
Whenever you feel unsatisfied with any service China Odyssey Tours has provided, please inform your local tour guide or your travel consultant immediately to avoid similar problems happening again either before or during your trip.
If you want to complain or claim for compensation, you must inform us by email, regular mail, or facsimile in writing within 15 days upon your finish of your tour. Please attach relevant receipts and substantiating evidence to the letter of claim. China Odyssey Tours will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after you finish your tour.
