DUNHUANG
The brilliant pearl on the Silk Road, Dunhuang is well-known for its grottoes and murals, offering the experience of the most representative attractions in western China. With 45,000 square meters of murals and 2,400 painted sculptures, the Mogao Grottoes, which were excavated 1,000 years ago, demonstrate the development of Chinese grotesque art.
