Situated on the southern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Lijiang, a state-listed historical and cultural city, served as a vital section for both the Tea-horse Ancient Road and the Silk Road. The city is also a well-known international tourist destination with three world heritage: The Three Parallel Rivers, the Naxi Dongba Ancient Books and Documents, and Lijiang Ancient Town. In addition, there are over 100 tourist attractions including Shuhe Ancient Town, Black Dragon Pool Park, and the famous Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which got its name from its thirteen meandering snow peaks that appeared to be a flying dragon.
